I have been traveling like crazy, but I am reading your journals! I had the most outrageous and quite drunken& giggly spike on Friday: "the second bottle of wine is more fun with you around!" I told my author friend who was visiting from Kansas City. We had a ball! But then I turned in two great workouts this weekend: kayaking 2 hours around Seattle's Lake Union (by the Sleepless in Seattle Houseboat!) and today hiking six miles through Forest Park in portland. I am feeling a bit studly!
The big thing I am focusing on this week will be calorie count. I want to get more accustomed to 1200-1400 kcal/day, and I know I can do it with an emphasis on curbing carbs and calorie dense foods, in favor of fresh fruit and veggies. Went to Trader Joes and totally stocked up for the week! Have a wonderful week, all. My kids have been at the grandparents' house with DH since Wednesday so they are coming home tonight and I cant wait!

Yes, maammm! That is is a great plan. I have been reading about calorie rotating; not exactly spiking but similar. It's a four week cycle: week one eat two days 300 below your usual, week two you eat two days 400 above your usual, week three you eat two days 400 calories below your usual, week four you eat two days about 300 above you usual. Then two weeks at your usual calories. Then do the cycle again. Presumeably it keeps the metabolism guessing and your body avoids stalls - I may try it out!

Wow! Fantastic workout. I'm impressed!
Good plan on the fresh veggies and fruit. It's odd, but it seems as though fruit tastes sweeter to me now.
Enjoy your kids & give them a hug from us.

That doesn't sound like exercise...it sounds like fun. I grew up on the west coast and miss the ocean and those big beautiful forests. Don't miss the six months of rain though.

It sounds like you had a great weekend! Exercising in our great outdoors is the best. However, you really should try a Zumba class; it is such a fun-wonderful workout. If you're a 24 Hour Fitness member, they have lots of classes at different times. We're in the same general area; we could even go to Zumba together if your life wasn't already so full. Hope you're having a great evening with your kids!
