Weight loss after 7 days of fasting.
The first 3 days consisted of a few hunger pains and belly growls. The hardest part was to not think about food. The fourth day was of no great event. The fifth day, fatigue started setting in and it continues. I tire out very easily on the lightest tasks and I am more sleepy. Usually, my experience from prior fasts has been to have a natural high beginning about the 4th or 5th day. I've not had this kind of fatigue in a fasting before. I don't like this at all. So I'd like to think that while my body is taking this time to detox and heal itself, it is consuming my strength to do a jam-up good job.

Seven days is admirable. Do you take vitamins?

Awesome work!

What works for me is intensive exercise while fasting. 15k steps minimum and a one hour jog every few days.

You’re body is under stress when you fast like that - that’s why you feel so tired. Rest is the best thing to let it do it’s job. Congrats on your accomplishments!

This may help: The Stages of Fasting: What Happens To Your Body When You Fast?: https://bit.ly/2FRr5jx It describes the "Healing Crisis" of switching to fat burning.

Jody, I don't take vitamins. I took in some coffee for comfort and salt to help cell efficiency. Ade, it's great that you can jog during a fast. But I'm having to take breaks during long tasks. My body starts acting like I've been jogging.

Adef, I found your suggested site very valuable. I was thinking about ending at this point but after reading that article I have decided to go on longer. It talked about the stress Rbnsons referred to and my mind was eased. Thanks to everyone for your support.

@Fartblossem - Good luck and be safe. I experience discomfort last week because it was the longest I did as a "water fast" (previously I was doing a mixture of "water fast" and "no solid food"). I took an aspirin for the headaches, drank a lot of water with "Electrolyte Concentrate for Rapid Rehydration" (keeps the water 'inside' my body), walked a LOT, and lifted weights (this REALLY wakes you up while fasting). I realize that this is not always possible for everyone. I have been fasting off and on for the past two months and, for me, I enjoy not feeling hungry while fasting (yes I think about food mentally). I am calmer to be around at work and with my family. My energy is constant throughout the day. I have been eating for the past 3 days and I am counting the days until I can re-start the fast (after the planned family eating 'events' have completed). My body just does not want carbs. My mind does, but my body gets sluggish and bloated.

Adef, would you suggest I exercise more at this time? What kind for muscle strength?

@Fartblossem - Keep in mind, I am only describing what worked for me. When fasting I just wake up, no coffee needed, but my body feels tight and I mentally want to rest. I then do a 1/2 hour weight lifting routine (using resistance bands are wayyy safer and recommended, but I like curling barbells in the mirror :)). This causes the heart rate to jump and I am now bouncing with energy. Later in the day at work I feel the sluggishness start to return. I go on a 1 hour walk for lunch. When I get back to the office I have a ton of energy again. My lowest part of the day is driving home from work. In Los Angeles I can be in traffic for an hour and a half :( As soon as I get home my wife and I walk for 45 minutes. I'm back to feeling good again. This is why I recommend exercise while fasting. Without it I would feel sluggish all the time.

Thanks, I'll do what I can and find what works for me.
