BuffyBear's Journal, 19 July 2012

In reference to DH's eye hemorrhage - he got a call from his doctor and his blood sugar level is fine. Other than starting the cholesterol medicine (generic Lipator) he is not doing anything more. No further appointments or testing.

DH doesn't seem concerned and his doctor doesn't seem concerned. Must be there is something wrong with me? I have no choice but to try to forget about it for the time being.

Nothing wrong with you Buffy....I'd still be worried too, unless the hemorrhage was just a one-time thing, for who knows what reason, and it has stopped and will eventually clear. Perhaps that's what they think. Glad to hear he doesn't have diabetes!

Hey, maybe all those prayers healed him. At any rate, if the doctor and DH aren't concerned, Hallelujah! I've know people that had a one-time hemorrhage behind their eye. One had to have it drained. I think the others never had a problem again. I've given a few to people in my younger days. Wish I hadn't, but they lived.

I think it's our jobs as wives to worry, for whatever reason. I would probably be the same, but we have to put our trust in our doctors. Hope DH will be conscientious about his eye... Good news for both of you !

I think Buffy take both voices of reason and go with it! Such good news :)

I know its good news about the blood test...but like you I still worry about my DH at times too...My DH has been on lipator for years..he just needs a blood test every six months to check on his liver..so far so good..I think its in our genes to worry..so your not alone in that.. Have a great weekend..:O)

I'd still be worried too, & maybe not very quietly either. Those doctors...well, I won't get started on that, but I would be thinking that since this is a new medication some re-testing would be in order, if for no other reason as to check its effectivness. As far as the eye thing, maybe it's more common...but I sure would be keeping an "eye" on that for sure, pun intended. But seriously, I hope he would be honest enough to clue you in on any eye/head pain he experiences & if he gets crabby...ask him if he's feeling ok! In the mean time, since he is fine now, that's a real good thing, all we can do is just hope & pray it's all over with!!

Buffy, glad there's good news. I' with you, though. I'd keep an eye (excuse the pun) on it. No grapefruit juice with the lipitor. Too many diuretics. My thoughts and prayers are with you both.
