So yesterday I was watching Dr. Oz. I know, I know, but I just love the guy. I don't do everything he says, but some of it makes a lot of sense to me. Anyway Dr. Andrew Weil was on, talking about his holistic approach to life. How old is he anyway? I can't even tell, but I have a feeling he's older than he looks. So on the show Dr. Weil suggested this breathing exercise that's supposed to change your life (really?)but since my yoga teacher is always telling me I'm not breathing right I thought I would try it. Breathe out to empty your lungs, breathe in to a count of four, hold your breath to a count of seven, then breathe out noisily to a count of eight. I don't know why, but he said to breathe out whooshily. I don't think that is a word but you get the idea. Do this breathing exercise four times,twice a day, like morning and night. After a month, remarkable things are supposed to happen to you (uh huh). I'm going to try this because frankly I could use some remarkable things and I'm sure my brain needs the extra oxygen.

Sound like breathing exercise from meditation. There is on called following the breath where you breathe in hold and breathe out whooshily all the time focusing only on your breathing. It helps clear your mind of all those little annoying voices.
