Are all doctors scales mean? I'm beginning to think that all doctors scales are set at least 5 lbs higher than my home scale on purpose. It's not just my current scale either. It's every scale I have ever owned. Therefore.. I've decided the doctors office has some secret memo that says "Set your scale at least 5 lbs heavier so the patient's blood pressure will be elevated once you get them to the exam room." As if going to the doctors office didn't suck enough on it's own.

Just when I received additional motivation to go to the gym.. I forgot to pack my gym shoes in my gym bag. Sure I could totally workout on the elliptical in my cute little dress flats but I'm going to pass. Instead I think I might shop for a treadmill while the dairy farmer is insane enough to offer to buy me a treadmill. I suspect the neighbors or one of his friends finally noticed that I'm running like a crazy lady around the pad in the back of the barn. I have noticed that the cars can see me as they come over the hill and a woman attempting to run around an ag bag pad is something I would slow down to watch. Huh.. now I kind of wonder if I'm on Facebook somewhere. I better shop for a treadmill.

Dr's scales! My thoughts are I weigh myself every morning as soon as I get up, go to the bathroom, and get naked. This is before my meds, water, or anything else. That is the weight I go by for the day. Since I'm seeing the Dr's office so many times every week right now, I've come to accept the flux as the combined weight of having clothes on, plus any water I've consumed while taking my morning pills. Hope that helps.

They may put you on "People of Walmart" even though you weren't really in there. I'd check. LOL OK so yeah, I get to the doctor's office and I start stripping down in that outside area just for the weigh-in. After the last visit I actually considered wearing my workout clothes (leggings are lighter than jeans) and then changing before work. Hang in there! Treadmill may be fun but then you'd have to use it. :)

I always figure my clothing adds a couple of pounds because I don't weigh in my clothes at home. At least that's what I tell myself. I have an appointment tomorrow, so we'll see how mean my doctor's scale is. I hope you have luck finding a treadmill.

Yes! They are all evil and I swear, when I'm thin and go in - they don't weigh me. When I feel like a fatty, that's the first thing they do is throw me on the scale :P

That's true the doctors scale will always be at least 3 to 4 lbs. higher. I used to get so mad. But I weigh at home before I go and subtract the difference.

also figure if you drink like you should that is at least 2 pounds. I weigh at least two pounds more at night than I do first thing in the morning

So true about the dr scales! They are always 5 lbs heavier than my home scale! This made me laugh...but I think you’re on to something! It’s a conspiracy! 🙂

My Dr office weighs me with clothes on and work boots + wallet, keys and everything else I have in my pockets - they are at least 5lbs off. I tell them, they say "oh ok - we will note that." I meet with the Dr and he is using the wrong weight to tell me about my BMI. FACEPALM.

The only scale that matters is the one you weigh on every day.
