So while I'm still on the subject of water and got some really good advice from everyone, what is better tap water or plastic bottles from the store? I know other people need your help too, so I apologise for taking up so much time! Nan

Tap water all the way. Why clutter the environment with even more plastic????

Tap water is better as it’s regulated with tighter regulations than bottled water. You have a better idea which chemicals are in tap water. Also as schmetterlinge34 says it’s better on the environment 👍🏻

Definitely tap water - if you live in a hard water area a Brita filter makes it more palatable (other water filters are available). I'd recommend investing in a good water bottle that doesn't leak so you can carry some around with you if that's why you were thinking of plastic bottles. There are plenty in online and traditional stores at a range of prices.

Tap water!

there is a lot of controversy over which is better. I personally only drink spring water. The tap water where I live is so full of chemicals I can't get it near my nose to drink a it. I'm not working this hard to lose weight just to drink poison water.

Most bottled water is actually tap water- spring water so always be sure to get PURIFIED on the label !!! I actually have a reverse osmosis system at my home for drinking, and I fill up my reusable bottles !!, got online for less than $200.00

We live in the country and have well water. The ones that take care of it only put chlorine in the tanks. I have read about plastic leaching chemicals into the content. I've actually bought glass storage bowls (plastic lids) and vowed to get rid of all my plastic containers. Well, just got up and was just about to drink some coffee but remembered to drink water first. So thanks for all your help and support and I am really gonna try to drink more plain water! Love all your comments, Nan

Ehm tap water contains flouride and other chemicals unlike Spring water in the bottle. Spring water is much better for you than tap .. not sure why everyone is so mis-informed about this here?

Im so glad you drank some water before your coffee! It'll become a habit before you know it. Water from the tap can taste different from place to place. My grandmother had well water and i couldn't stand it but i love my town's tap water. I usually buy a case of bottled waters and then refill them with tap water once I've drunk the water that came in them. Getting a filter if you can afford it, as others have suggested, might improve the taste of your water.

I have a filter on my tap water! LOL I cannot stand the added minerals in bottles of water. So we are all over the place. The important thing about water is to drink it! 🙋🏻

Tap water is certainly cheaper than the bottled. Some of those bottled waters are actually tap water from other towns. If you have a a chlorine smell, put the water in a pitcher and put it in the fridge over night. The chlorine will gas out.

As long as you have good quality tapwater in your area, it’s superior to bottled water. Bottled water has absolutely no regulations on what is in it or how they label it. Tapwater is usually really clean, I run mine through a filter to get rid of any chlorine or added minerals.

Filtered tap water is much, much better than drinking out of plastic. Get a glass bottle for storage. Spring water may be wonderful, but as soon as it hits the plastic, chemicals leach into it. Personally, I use a good filter for tap water and store the water in glass.

Bottled water overseas and tap (filter thingy on the fridge) at home.

Yes, yes to filter and glass not plastic! And as suggested I am getting into the habit of a glass of water with a cup of coffee! 😆 Thanks so much again to everyone for the help! Now I need to make myself get up and walk. When I work at one thing the other goes bad. But still on my diet, woohoo! I can't do what I've always done this time! I have yoyo dieted most of my long life and at this age I just have to do it! My husband is always supportive in whatever I do and he's doing it with me!

here the plastic bottles from the store are better .. we get letters all the time in this town about the water not being "potable" and to boil before use
