A little disappointing this morning. Troll Scale was being erratic this morning to decided to change batteries and bam... becomes rock steady at 299.8. 4 lbs higher with new batteries?!? Just a rough benchmark as I say but a bit disappointing to see none the less. Oh well, going to let it ride for a couple of days before recording anything and using it as the new baseline. Just going to keep working the plan and pushing forward with things.

Tis annoying how much we lean on such things, how much what they say affects one's psyche, considering how fickle they are. It's hard to grasp and hold in the mind the fact that just a couple tenths of a volt of delivered electricity can affect the reading of such a device and that is only 1 of many variables that affect what it reports. Just a hard reminder why the number on the scale really is the least important indicator of progress. Don't let such fickle tech bring you down and distract you from the things that have meaning.. how you feel, how things fit, what you can do!

Anyway, lunch of slow cooked chicken thighs with two boiled eggs, spinach and mct oil, spiced up with sriracha, garlic, turmeric, and rice vinegar. Time to get into the day! Y'all get out there and make the very best of it. Stay mindful about what you are doing, keep making all those little decisions that move you closer to where you want to be! Ciao y'all!

It's hard not to ride the "highs" and "lows" with too much emotion. Most of us are indeed fickle in our psyche and how we maintain determination and enthusiasm. Maybe it's time for all of us to invest in some big "Monty Python and the Holy Grail" style scales and forget the pesky millivolts! But then where would I find enough ducks to even out my 350lbs?

As a woman I still view the scale as some kind of god. It's so true and real. Hey, you weigh 270 and are 5,5 you are very fat. If it bothers you to weigh that high, the scale will tell you, the elastic pants won't.so is a matter of choice, still, I don't care that much... I am HAPPY! I will use the scale as a guide, not as lifestyle. Take care and thank you Always!!

PS - Have you looked at a 7 Day Moving Average of your daily scale weight? For me that netted out most the day to day changes due to water fluctuation and helped ease my scale psychosis..

Be encouraged. You know it will come back off. You are doing great! This journey can be a rough one and it seems to be unforgiving at times. Stay strong. Luv the new profile pic-you look awesome! Don't let the troll get the best of you today. YOU GOT THIS! Hope you have a wonderful day!

how do you know when the batteries are not good, maybe it's time to change mine's batteries, probably yours is just water retention, it can happen

I am more annoyed at your scale than you are! :)

You are doing so well despite what the stupid scale says! Don’t let it get you down. Tomorrow it will probably be back down. But I get it...that stupid number can play mind games for sure. Stay strong my friend!!

Yeah, I worry about the number, meanwhile my pants are falling off. Gotta expand my horizons for more indicators than that number!

You said your carbs were higher a day or two ago i think. There are certain carbs that cause inflammation in me. It may be the same for you. There was something else i considered but i don't know how accurate it is so I'll just say i bet things will even out in your favor if you drink plenty of water and stick to your plan the next three days. Also, some people can't rely on their scales and only go by their measurements. I hope you have a very interesting and awe inspiring day. If you do, don't forget to share it with us :-)

Thank you all for the encouragement and suggestions. I was just venting on unreliable tech (it offends my inner engineer/geek). And the number change is a tech thing. I swapped old batteries in and though the number varied across three consecutive measures (this is the sign on my scale that the battery's are getting flakey) it averaged where I expected at 295ish (295.2 but whose counting). With the brand new fresh batteries it was a steady 299.8 again no big deal especially it was so clearly a tech thing. And what can really be expected from a $20 dollar scale utilizing 5 cent force transducer put together by 8 year olds in a sweatshop in china. But yet, and this was what was in my head as I was musing, WE rely on these things to tell us how we are doing.. we places our hopes and dreams on them.. we let them drive our ups and downs. I won't deny I was annoyed but that comes more from my inner engineer/geek saying "Its not that damn hard or expensive to make this [bleep] work right every time!". But the lesson here, as I keep preaching... The number is a POOR reflection of progress.. its a VERY ROUGH benchmark at best. What is important is how one feels, how things fit.. and most important to me.. what one can do! All y'all are awesome, not only do you take the time to offer an old grumpy geek words that bring smiles, take the time to "listen" to my raving babble as I short the thoughts on all this bouncing around by brain cell. THANK YOU!
