My best friend died before I could drive to the nursing home to see her. I knew it was coming, but no one predicted it would be that fast. She moved there only a week ago because she was too weak to be alone because of lung cancer. She refused chemo bc she didn't want to quit smoking. I was going to say that was her choice, but really cigarette addiction ruled so many things in her life. It breaks my heart and makes me mad at the same time. Not mad at her, mad at the fact that cigarettes are still a legit industry. Tobacco's only purpose is to make money with the criminal side effect of killing its users. Is tobacco addiction worse than sugar and alcohol addiction? The latter two may be more insidious bc they're not as harmful to its users... unless you overdo it.

Yesterday I went to Sam's Club with mom and they were handing out snack samples. I added those snack bites into my food diary. Mostly I'm guessing at portions. I need to be more accurate. I'm still managing to avoid the candy jars at mom's, and I'm not feeling tempted.

I did eat one cake bite yesterday and Mr C ate the rest. It was part of the dozen cake bites I was going to take to my friend. Those were her favorites.
