Well today's another day ! DH is not as upset today, he's starting Chantix to stop smoking his pipe, which he knows is not good for him, so I'm being very encouraging & also know how hard this is for him.
Appointment with kidney specialist for 27th July, so I'm doing as much research as possible. Sonogram indicated small renal cysts & mildly dilated left renal collecting system. This classifies as chronic kidney disease stage 1, which I'm hoping can be controlled with diet etc., but will need to wait until we take with kidney specialist before we panic. I'm trying to do the research, while making sure DH doesn't get real upset and let his mind go wild, if you know what I mean.
Temperatures warming back to 100's, so going to need to start watering again tomorrow morning.
I really like having all the good vegetables, fruits &whole grant stuff around the house, so not tempted to eat "junk food"...
Thanks for all the support with DH :)

Sorry for the bad news. Ten days is a long time until his appointment. Hang in there and don't forget to take care of yourself too.

Your hubby has a lot to deal with. Do they know why he is having these problems? Whatever it is, having good food isn't going to hurt anything.

Buffy's right, having good food helps....as will stopping that pipe smoking. Wishing him (and YOU!) the best as he goes through all this.

Good luck!! My dad stopped smoking his pipe about 10 years ago with the help of a pill like Chantix and he would suck on cough drops or candy when he felt the urge to smoke. I hope your hubby does okay and all goes well.

Buffy - no symptoms, doctor was concerned that Creatinine level and GFR level were low over past 2 years, so she referred him to kidney specialist since she's not a specialist, just general md. I'm doing lots of research on internet because the more I know the better I can deal with the situation. He's determined to stop the pipe smoking, which I am so thankful since he stopped cigarettes in 2004 after he had his stroke and doctor's told him he was very, very lucky there wasn't any more severe damage from stroke other than numbness on his whole left side, which he could have been paralyzed.
