Fritzy 22's Journal, 23 April 2018

Had errands to run first thing this morning and didn't have time to eat breakfast. So decided to try to make it a 24 hour fast. Just need to get to 3pm when I had my last meal yesterday. I usually do intermittent fasting and drink water or diet soda during the evening after my window of eating closes. Read yesterday that I shouldn't be drinking the diet sodas while fasting. Didn't realize that, but it makes sense if the fasting period is supposed to be a cleansing period. I just thought if I wasn't eating or 16 hours out of the day it would be easier to lose, and it has been. But I will give up the sodas after 3pm until I eventually give them up all together.

Suggestion if you are a soda person, try switching to bubbly water instead. Perrier, La Croix, etc. If you find you like those maybe even investing in one of those machines, I know it's saved my sister and brother in law a ton of money.

Jeannieselby: I do have sparkling water in the refrigerator. I'm not crazy about it, but may give it another chance. Ches-It's just 5 minutes to 3 now in California. Trying to decide what to eat or whether to eat or just wait til morning.

Patty, I hear you - but since I usually stop eating by 2 or 3pm anyway, I'm thinking I may see if I can make it until morning. I'm used to not eating at this time of day. And you, more than anyone, know that I have been struggling within 3 to 5 pounds of my first goal for about 6 weeks now.

Fritzy, I was a HUGE diet soda drinker, but after gastric bypass any carbonation is a big no no. So I actually weaned myself over to non-caffeinated teas (caffeine being a no no as well.) I discovered the Celestial Season Rooiboos & Madagascar Vanilla is pretty good even without sweetening and many of the rose hip or mint teas or there is one TAZO tea called passion that is great warm and hits the spot when you aren’t eating. 🤷🏻‍♀️They have worked surprisingly well as soda substitutes. The only thing I mis any more is that refreshing burn in the back of the throat in the morning after your first cold sip. 😆💁🏻‍♀️Haven’t figured out a way around that. LOL 🙋🏻
