@KayseaLove that’s so awesome, glad you started, I had really great results my first time trying Keto back in Sept. lost 27lbs, but gained a few back over 6weeks during a crisis... but could have been worse!!! Even looking in the mirror this morning my face and neck just seemed less puffy. I knew my body wasn’t happy with me and all the starches/carbs even if they were “healthier” choices...

@kaysealove portion control is key, I have found. I am not so much of an emotional eater as I am a homebody when I am depressed, so after the death of my daughter’s daddy I stopped hiking, stopped going places as often and my life became pretty much couch potato... I gained 47 pounds in 3 years ☹️ I didn’t even realize it was happening until my PTSD symptoms subsided a little around my birthday (aug 2017)... I saw a picture my cousin took of me and I was shocked, didn’t recognize myself at all... so I decided to try keto. It really works, if you’re consistent! During the fire and mudslides I just didn’t have access to keto friendly foods living out of a hotel made it pretty difficult... but I have finally restocked my house and have been able to focus on my health again!

So happy you're doing better - with everything's that hit you, you've shown a strength that I doubt I could muster - given the same circumstances. Well done!

@johnwentzville it’s the things you don’t realize are such a big part of your life that are affected by disasters... mail... we haven’t received any mail since the 4th!!! ☹️ I actually miss getting bills!! And being able to drive along the beautiful coast, get my feet in the freezing ocean during a full moon or visit my nephew at the cemetery... all things I took for granted. But I know clean up, rescues and getting people’s destroyed homes picked up are much more important than my trivial problems

@from371 thanks. I don’t feel like I was very strong 😔 I sorta fell apart at the seams... but getting back to my positive and happy self slowly but surely

@kaysea. I carry my weight in my stomach and back, basically my upper body... I wish I were someone who got curves in all the right places and then maybe I wouldn’t mind the extra weight... but I enjoy the IF and keto and logging... sorta turns losing weight into a time strategy game for me 🤣

@kaysealove I used to be so skinny even after my first baby I was 97lbs... 😱 the. After two kids I was 117... then gained and gained and gained. 😫😫 I don’t think an hour glass bod is too much to ask for either... I was much “curvier” when pregnant with my second and I felt so much sexier then than I do now ☹️ but after starting keto my skin has gotten nicer, my muscle tone is “different” and I’m starting to love myself again...

awesome stuff

@kaysea I do think my skin has been benefiting a lot. Clearer, kinda glows, I need less makeup to achieve even an even skin tone, less puffy, I assume the no sugar and increasing the good oils and fats does that... also I have really increased my water intake because I am not as hungry as often. Make sure to keep your water intake high and think about some sort of low carb fiber or probiotics... about 2.5months Into keto my first go around... I got really constipated... its common I found out. After posting here about it... ☹️🤣

I may have to get some Metamucil!! 😉 just in case! I do have two kids, 4 and 9! Their relationship with food is what I consider normal. They stop when they are full and usually only want a small treat because things like juice “are too sweet”... my oldest never finishes the cupcakes at parties and my youngest has never had one... she’s celiac and we usually bring her a “treat” to have instead... so my kid are the “weird ones”... what part of Cali did you visit during the summer? I am so glad keto is helping your winter skin too!!

Oh, you ladies SO do NOT want curves! Hourglass figures just lead to bad backs and in my family, breast reduction surgeries! LOL 🤷🏻‍♀️Why is the grass always greener? LOL 💁🏻‍♀️Keep taking the probiotics they help your appendix support your immune system and your digestive system! Important little digestive bacteria there! 🙋🏻
