Ok a continuation of the poop post yesterday.. I got the magnesium this morn. Took 500mg-1 pill. Now what? Just one a day? How many days will it take to take effect? The bottle says "supports bone and muscle health". Did I get the right one ? Im working diligently to be sure to get back into my fish oil and other supplements..and Im REALLY trying to get my water in..Had a hot tea with lemon last night with fiber and added the fiber to coffee this morn. I just need to focus on the leafy greens and water and more water..

I take the 1000, but hay try it see if anything happens, you don't need to stay close to a toilet.

I take the powder "CALM". Never had anything happen when I took the pills as a supplement. But I would think it would have the same effect if you take enough. CALM has 325mg of magnesium in teaspoons although the ingredients say Ionic magnesium citrate created from a highly absorbable proprietary blend of citric acid and magnesium carbonate.

What about Metamucil? That's always worked for me. I just stumbled upon the effects of taking too much CALM, my doctor suggested taking it for a calming effect when I was anxious. The canister says it's a "relaxing magnesium supplement"

Is it magnesium citrate? Other forms can be constipating.

Fritzy Metamucil makes me puke.. have some and cant stand it.. I use benifiber.. and always had great results bc i added some miralax when needed.I just messed up all that work up by straying from my WOE.. lesson learned bc Im dying here. DONOK.. I work at home soooo Im gonna take another 500mg.. I need all the help I can get.. LOL

Mag citrate is what you need. It's marked as a laxative I think.

Look for Senna powder in the laxatives.

Red, I sure would get the citrate formulation. The one I have is not marketed as laxative. Personally my experience with senna is not one I care to repeat; the magnesium citrate is far gentler, at least for my system.

I use 200 mg Docusate Sodium (Topcare Stool Softener) or Senna.

Oxygen360 - turns everything to liquid while you sleep, but you have to take 4 capsules and drink massive amounts of water, like 3 or 4 bottles before you go to bed. I usually eat at 6 and around 8 take the capsules and start drinking the water, but the next day I am able to go and feel so much better.

They changed the name, it's Oxypowder now, but you can order online or go to a health food store and get it. It cost me $46.00 but does the trick.

Maybe check into abdominal/visceral massage? Depending on the area you live in there may be a practitioner near you, or just research self massage. Every time I take a visceral maggase CE class -- things really start to move 😉.

Your body will absorb the magnesium it needs and anything your body doesn't need is 'expelled', that is the way the magnesium works to make you go. I take one 400mg pill each night to prevent leg cramps and it doesn't effect my digestion.

The magnesium citrate I have is about $12/8oz.jar on sale. I wouldn't start with full dose.
