Happy Weekend, my Fabulous Followers:

I just came from a productive workout, some errands and a trip to the grocery store so I can plan meals ahead. As I was checking out, I noticed what many other people had in their carts - lots of refined carbs and cereals, and soda galore.

Then, I looked at my stuff and thought about how much I have LEARNED over the years. I had cauliflower, berries, a melon, chicken, pork, salmon, walleye (fish), garlic, lemon, almond milk, and only one can - prime filet white albacore tuna!

I do the same thing while in line at the grocery...often say a quiet prayer that they will one day learn about better nutrition. Oddly, their grocery total isn't any cheaper than mine. You had one item in your groceries that I dearly covet...walleye! We don't have that available in my part of the world. It is the best! I used to have it every Friday night when I lived up north. Enjoy and savor it for me:)

Way to go! I shop for my FIL and I hate seeing his junk food on the line! I feel like ppl think it's mine but then I say to myself, does this body look like it eats that? Hahaha.

Sounds like my grocery cart and my reaction to the carts around me. Although I have to leave out the cauliflower... today I bought a few clusters of cauliflower off the salad bar. I'm going to try making some and see if I can digest it -- but I'll wait until Sunday, just in case I have to stay home on Monday thanks to the cauliflower! Do you like spicy? Tonight I am making this fabulous chicken chipotle dish I discovered to which I am now addicted. If you want the recipe, message me.

I agree The longer I eat like this, the more aware I am about the rubbish people around me eat In the office kitchen At friend's homes In the supermarket My whole family now eat less processed crap ( I have 2 teenagers) and I'm experimenting with herbs and spices fir natural flavours instead of chemicals I've come too far now to go back to the way i ate before ( occasionAl slip ups tell me I'm still learning tho 😉)

carts: what is sad looking into peoples carts is sometimes the direct corrolation betwen what is in their carts and what they look like. I've seen very overweight people (with walking canes) and their equally overweight children, with the cart filled with sodas, 'candy' cereal, processed foods, Kraft diner, no vegetables or fruits (or barely) cake boxes . Usually, they also look financially impoverished. I don't understand with all the info available, how this is still happening.

I'm probably one of the people who gets judged in the shopping line. I have to shop for my mom's best friend -- a little old lady friend of 92. So my cart often has what she has eaten for the last 30 years: Oreos, Cokes, Campbell's soups. Terrible junk. But she has lived to be 92 despite it all and has always been thin. She's in hospice care now, so I can't change her eating habits at this point. It's her comfort food. She probably would be living to 100 if junk/convenience food weren't so profitable and pervasive in our world.

I always have a giggle in line because some of my cart is for me, and some is for my son who won't touch some of the stuff I eat so it's a mix. 🤷🏻‍♀️

LOL - I hope I did not sound judgmental - my comment was about how much I have CHANGED me and how happy that makes me.

in all fairness, you can still be overweight with eating clean food. I eat well, but still have pounds to lose. It's also a matter of portion control and moving. there is such a thing as too much of a good thing! :)

HCB, it's all good! You're doing great -- and we all judge whether we admit it or not. I am more embarrassed when I get caught looking at the National Enquirer headlines than I am by the cookies I put on the conveyor.
