KThompson12's Journal, 30 August 2016

I fell off my last diet after 4 days. I got down to 191, gained it all back plus interest. I've been eating a lot of junk food and ice cream lately, and not exercising.
I heard Louis C.K. say "I've finally given up on the hope that I'll get fit some day". It hit home. Maybe I'll never be a 14 again, and I should just accept it.
On the other hand, I feel very depressed that I'm crawling back into 18's, teetering on 200 lbs, and my legs are chunkier than ever before.
I'm up early to exercise this morning, maybe it will motivate me.
195.2 lb Lost so far: 28.2 lb.    Still to go: 10.2 lb.    Diet followed poorly.
gaining 0.4 lb a week

I may fall down, I may fall off, I may lose control, I may get irritated, angry, depressed, and even disgusted with myself BUT I will NEVER give up HOPE and TRYING. That's the great thing about life. There is always that new moment you CAN start again! Progress, not perfection is MY goal!!!

I can imagine that it's frustrating for sure. Try using a "goal card" (research Don Proctor) as it's been helping me get back on track. I know you're a different person but it could work! It's basically a form of visualization and then working to be who you see yourself being by reading your goals to yourself 2-3 times a day. You have to work hard to get rid of the thoughts that ice cream and junk food are an ok thing... believe me I know it's hard. But I can tell you honestly today that when they bring in donuts on Wednesday mornings I can walk past them like nothing.. I don't even feel proud of myself... I just don't care. Don't give up... you just need to find what works for you. Eventually some day you'll have the realization that you're just plain tired of it.

LOL....no you will never be 14 again! But do really want to be 14? I turned 50 a couple of month ago and I am fitter now then I was in my twenties.

I think she means size 14, not age 14, lol. Who would want to be 14 years old again, ugh!

Its amazing how fast we can gain it back...and I have been there so many times before. You can do this. It just takes longer...good luck!

Just rid yourself from the term Diet and replace that with permanent changes, enjoy your early exercise.
