redgirl1974's Journal, 29 June 2016

today I plan to go cold turkey. Im off so work will not be en excuse to cheat. I think the best course of action is to do what I did in the beginning and pretend Im starting over. SO. Im going to follow the Atkins book to a T, dont eat after 8, and use shakes (i make my own with vegan protein) to get thru this. You may see some extra posts here.. sorry if I get annoying but I need to identify the triggers and posting when I crave helped me thru it the last time. But the only way I can make a change is if I get mad, and sick and tired and do something about it.. Well today is that day. Let me add..Ive been sneaking in bites here and there of this and that for a while now. Ive said this before,Im getting comfortable and slipping back into my old ways and eating when Im not hungry, eating bc its there or someone invites me or Im bored.I need to tell myself over and over, I can never go back to the old me.. .. time to wake the new me up again. Im a active healthy mom, not a frozen dinner mom! I need to be a rock. I need to be an example. Time to love myself some more today ! I deserve it ! I need it ! Freeedooommmmmmm (imagine me dressed like braveheart here ) !! hahahahaha

I love Braveheart. You post all you need to! I Googled a little and learned that sunlight and thinking of pleasant memories both boost Serotonin and Dopamine. Any way, I am happy for you that you have this new resolve and new energy 😉💪👊👍

I've been thinking about what you've said about "a little bite here and there" and what Dr. Jason Fung (and others) have said about snacking, and I can see how these little bites can hamper progress if they occur between meals. Lately I've added the "3 meals per day, no snacking" rule to my program. And on my diet ("fast") day it's 2. I can't remember if you've mentioned watching his videos so pardon me if I mention something you're already aware of. Basically every time you eat you're producing insulin to process the food and that tends to turn the food to fat. I'm starting to think about how little things can make a lot of difference on a weight-loss program, like the "window of eating" and how often we eat.

It's never too soon or too late to reboot and start again! If there's anything I can do to help let me know.

Sometimes you need a restart. When I am feeling unmotivated and I start to waver from my diet.. I will sometimes pick up a paleo book or health book that inspired me and re-read it. It reminds you of WHY you are on this plan and WHY you want to be healthy. Now I seem to be reading a health book all the time to keep me motivated

OK I SURVIVED one whole day with no cheats.. Gonna log my meals shortly.. One thing I learned is idle hands... if Im really busy Im not focused on food. And two, sunflower seeds are my new friend. I went to bingo with my mom and thats place is a danger zone for me. I took my own water, a coke zero and a huge bag of sunflower seeds.. saved my life.. Did not meet my goal to not eat after 8 bc I was out at 8 so I waited and ate when I could eat and not cheat... whew...
