warrenwinter's Journal, 28 June 2016

Well, it's kind of a tired Tuesday for me, in wishing the best to our community. I was very happy with my workout yesterday at LA Fitness. I felt great afterwards, and it invigorated my system, but today, I must say, I just feel kind of tired, but at least my muscles don't feel too bad. That may be reserved for tomorrow. I did reward my wife, and I, to a trip to Red Lobster. Everyone have a great day!

Mmm. Food of the gods (according to an old friend) Truthfully, they were fed to the Colonial prisoners along the East coast, in days gone by. Bottom feeders. Time for some tofu now to help replenish the pocketbook. Have a great Taco Tuesday. 🤗

My old General Practitioner was big on Co-Q10 for heart health. She stopped taking my insurance and blamed it on O-Care, she was a quack anyway. The fast foods, junk foods, and processed foods are all pretty good targets for ditching from your diet, brother.

Well, Phil! You are blocking for me here. lol ......and here is my political opening. Obamacare would have been a HUGE, HUGE SUCCESS .....and this ain't TRUMP talking, if over 30 Republican states wouldn't have fought it with everything they had. They want nothing to do with changing Healthcare from what it was before Obamacare. I loved old Mitch McConnell, who just changed the name of Obamacare, and said how successful it was for his state. If they had just worked on it, as it is very complicated, instead of dismantling it. It would be so much better right now. Also, if you get America healthy, it would finally be so successful.

America healthy? The medical industry would Crash and we would lose the nations biggest source of revenue. The government wants us all FAT SICK AND HALFWAY DEAD. So we are easy to manipulate. And the insurance industry knows this. It will never change. Too much money to be made off of the sick.

Totally agree with you, Warren. My dad bitches and moans about Obama and that damn healthcare law, when he really should be bitching and moaning about the far-right blackholes here in Texas. That ain't political, that's just a fact.

Knuckles, let me talk to you about this. We are a capitalistic government, not socialist, yet social programs would help America get healthy. Democrats have been fighting for social healthcare for decades, and it has been fought at every chance. Obama was forced to make his healthcare, different than what he wanted. He wanted more social less capitalistic, but let me tell you, most plans are real deal, because healthcare is expensive, any way you look at it. When I was working, my policy was around 20k a year, and my wife's was 30k a year, naturally mostly paid by our employer. We naturally chose mine. That isn't chicken feed. O Care is so, so, so much cheaper. Medicare is even a better deal. Remember O Care is supplemented by Social Security.

it sucks how we pay so much for health insurance yet never use it. I see the doctor maybe once a year. and have to pay all this money every month =(

I never used mine, eihter Panigale, until I turned 29 and found myself in the ER with congestive heart failure. Really, really glad I had it because 1 week in intensive care ran about $250,000.

Remember, why is health insurance so expensive? Because of so many going into ER with no insurance. It is more economical to provide healthcare to most Americans, and make it an effective viable system. One of my students told me of her mother, who was on welfare, having brain tumors. They gave her millions in surgeries, and who do you think pays for that? ALL OF US! People don't realize, good healthcare could be financially beneficial for ALL. Best of all, everyone can get healthcare, LIKE YOURSELF, and be healthy, and be able to afford it.

Sorry Brother Warren, That's not why insurance is so expensive. That's a Lie they have been peddling for decades. Insurance is expensive because its how they make money. They COUNT on us never getting sick. And when we do, the lose money. So they need to keep it expensive as possible all the while making it a LAW that we HAVE to have it now. All about money man. They don't give a shit about any of us further than numbers on a sheet. You and I both are dollar signs to them.

Universal Single Payer is THE way to go, make it about service, not profit, insurance companies are NOT entitled to make windfalls at the expense of the well being of everyone else. It could be just like Social Security, and should be, of course Social Security suffers from being robbed blind by greedy politicians. Al Gore proposed how to solve that and got ridiculed for it. Ugh. I hate politics, and it's not because liking one side or the other, it's FACTS, pure facts that make me take sides.

Panigale makes a good point. The system benefits from younger people, who are, in a way, getting a raw deal, by putting in for others, but the system, would work better, if there wasn't so much opposition to it. Some get more benefits, than others. There are negatives to every system.

You're right, Knuckles! What would you say if I told you that there IS a cure for cancer, but it's being suppressed because analysts have determined that if it were released it would send the US into an economic depression worse than the Great Depression? Oncology is THAT big an 'industry', and the money mongers are willing to sacrifice people to keep the money cow alive. Add to that Big Pharma and the FDA being in cahoots, and actually funding medical schools so that doctors in training are only taught to match symptoms to drugs, and you'll see why it benefits the powers that be to have us not only fat, sick, and halfway dead, but also ignorant and easily led.
