Man, oh man, hot-footing it from West Seattle to the farm in Bellevue was cray-cray! It was cold when I left home this morning, cool when I left West Seattle around noon, and hot as I walked to and in the farm. And the barn was warm when I got there!!! What barn is warm???!?

The spinning was a lot of fun, though, with all the kids mesmerized by the whirling spindle and the men inquiring about the spinning wheels. Like they're all engineers, they always want to know how the wheels work. Glad I don't have one, or I'd have been talking all day with a sore throat all night ;-) We had nearly every kind of yarn-spinning device: Kitty said we needed a charka, but it wasn't until we were packing up for the day that we learned Tara had actually brought one. She got so busy -- we all were super-busy -- she couldn't dig it out of her bag! Next year, I'll have one to bring to the demonstration, yay!

Whew, 1946 calories for the day: I needed them all! Kept the carbs under 30%, and that's what really matters to me, so there!
