Greetings Best Buddies!
I hope all of you had a blessed and beautiful day with family and friends. I am grateful we went to a friend's home so ALL the food stayed at their house!
I had appetizers of cheese and a few crackers, one plate with my carbalooza (mashed potato, corn casserole, sweet potato, asparagus) and turkey, and one plate with two slivers of two different pies.
Of course, it was a billion carbs and calories BUT not terrible and no second helpings of anything! I wanted to eat more...but I stopped! I just did not want to feel extremely uncomfortable - which I have done in the past.
Oh - did I forget to mention the wine??? LOL - delicious!
NOW - turkey day is over and I will be at the gym tomorrow and back on my food plan!
Words of the Week: “In order to succeed, you must first be willing to fail.” I am dedicated, determined and diligent.

Good control!!! I also ate just very small portions of each item, a little extra turkey. 3 teeny slices of 3 pies my grandsons each made one. I still feel like I ate too much. Oh well. Also leftovers except the squash stayed there.

I didn't overeat but then I did -- if you know what I mean. I had small portions turkey, quinoa, potatoes, and green beans, but I should have stopped there. By eating dessert, I made myself so uncomfortable that I am now miserable. And the thing is -- I've been standing on my feet for almost the whole day two days straight to get this meal on the table, so my guess is I probably burned off all those calories, but still -- I'm uncomfortable. Back to normal tomorrow!

I also enjoyed but did not go back for seconds, nor was I stuffed. That in and of itself is progress! Great job!!

@skwhite - yes, it was progress for me. last year I went back for more starchy carbs - I actually remember it because I recall my stomach being uncomfortable.

Nice restraint, though I don't see a problem with a huge-a$$ one-off! I'm still trying to decide if I want to go whole-hog pecan pie for my birthday or wait till June when my one-year-on-plan date rolls around (if I do it all at that point).
