wholefoodnut's Journal, 07 October 2015

I haven't had time to keep up here much lately. It's a busy time of year for me and I added more by adopting a rescue puppy. She shouldn't have lots of negative issues since she is about 8 weeks. She is a terrier mix but not sure what, looks like a jack russell puppy.

Have been sticking to my eating plan but not much exercise as I run out of time and energy. Am going to try to fit a workout in in the am but some will depend on how the puppy does tonight. Last night she slept all night but she was recovering from being spayed yesterday. I will see how the morning goes.

No name yet, but she needs one soon besides pup. She is a bundle of energy once the affects of the surgery on Tuesday wore off. I knew she would be after spending an hour with her on Monday. Mom, new tennis balls, puppy rattles and another couple squeaky toys are on the list. She likes toys as does my Jazzy. 2 pups and I spent about hour outside yesterday with them chasing balls and each other. Pup was awake off and on but would go back to her pillow and box within a few minutes so thankfully a decent night's sleep.

Good luck to you big-hearted lady x Sounds to me as if you'll get a great workout with 2 pups to work for and play with. Enjoy!

I love terriers, too! You are going to have some fun now! Woo Hoo! (A new baby in the house!) Don't you just adore puppy breath? LOL! I am envious, in a way. Bonnie, Topper is cute. I had one I named Rascal. I had a Schnauzer I named Muffin. There are so many cute names out there.

Aww...love puppies! I am sure you will pick out a great name for her. You know you will have some exciting times with training and playing with the two of them. So jealous!

Lots of cute names, I thought of Sassy. Rascal and topper are cute, still getting to know her so haven't settled on anything yet. Fun, but she is teething (so constantly wanting to chew on me ;D) and I'm not a fan of stepping in pee puddles. I think once she gets over the really frequent pee thing she is having after spaying she will be fairly easy to potty train, that takes about a week to get over. I wanted to pick her up today after work (Friday) so would have 2 days off but that didn't fit the shelter's hold time rules so had to pick her up during the work week.

Oh they have a system!! They put you in a puppy proof room and bring out a pup that fits what you put on your little questionnaire. Then they leave you alone for awhile.. The young woman laughed when I told them they had this system worked so people bonded with the pup. She is a cutie personality wise as she needed to fit my Jazzy pup as well. I did have some criteria in looking and had interviewed a few pups last weekend that would not have fit me or Miss Jazz. One me but would not have been a good fit with Jazz. GD thinks I should find a playful and sweet pup for them, Mom would not agree. They have an older stray that moved in and they adopted but she is not playful though a very sweet dog. The 4 kids want a playful pup.
