Happy Weekend Best Buddies,

I am sitting and thinking about how my Keto LCHF nutrition plan must seem so odd to some people! At my gym, people are always noticing I have lost weight and that I am "leaning out." When they ask what I am doing and I share that I eat around 70% fat, 20% protein and 10% carbs - they look astonished!

Today, my grocery cart at Trader's Joe's had two packs of bacon, two packs of Kerrygold Grass fed butter, coconut oil, avocados, organic steak, pork chops, eggs, almond milk, a scant few vegetables and a small container of blueberries! I bet it appears quite strange!

But - "the proof is in the pudding" as they used to say - I certainly have lost fat and gained a ton of muscle in the last six or seven months.

Who knew?

One of the many things I have learned as I have journeyed toward a healthier place is that everyone has their own way to get there. We all have so many different likes & dislikes, health challenges, lifestyle challenges, etc. It is no wonder to me that we approach things differently. More power to you for making it work and don't worry about how strange you many come across to the unenlightened. :)

The end result is more important than how you get there. If it works for you ~ that's all that matters. Good job!

Good for you HCB!!!!! My cart today had spinach, baby carrots, Greek nonfat yogurt, chicken breast, fish some pork. I now look into other peoples carts and i'm thinking how gross lol. I can't believe i used to eat like that. I personally don't care what others say because at the end of the day i have to be the one feeling good about myself. I noticed today that my face is starting to look thinner.

I'm glad you have found a WOE that works for you. I don't think your cart was strange. I think back at all the crap I used to eat and it was no wonder I was overweight and in poor health.

Everyone has a different way. As long as you're healthy and happy, it's okay!

My cart usually looks pretty similar. I love trader joe's, they also have a low carb bread there I can use when I really want a sandwich or need bread. Not my favorite bread but it works in a pinch.

Poohe, I also watch what others purchase in grocery stores, the amount of junk foods amazes me. HCB, people at work think I eat very strangely, no junk food, no processed mostly veggies, beans and grains they have never heard of and very little meat. It's what works for you, as you know I could not handle your high fat and all that meat. I am buying some boneless chicken thighs and shrimp this weekend but it has been weeks since I bought any meat. No matter what those people at the gym say, follow your plan as it's working for you and you are working at making it part of your life not a diet with an end game. Trader Joes is a 100 mile round trip on the far opposite side of the city, so actually haven't been there. Lots of us keep hoping for a Trader Joes or Whole Foods on this side of the city, I'm thankful we have a new Sprouts 15 miles from me.

Don't you just love it when people look into your cart and you see that look of "cholesterol" written across their face. If only they knew.... Glad to hear that things are still going well.

Great work, HCB. Your success tells you the truth. Have fun making people wonder at your bacon and butter!
