HCB's Journal, 25 August 2015

Greetings Best Buddies!

I have done pretty well this month keeping the carbs low and the fat high. My weight loss has slowed; but my workouts recently have been more productive with using heavier weights and staying in the high heart rate zones for longer time periods.

This means to me...I am getting more fit and losing inches! WooHoo!

Well, I suppose it was time to change my Words of the Week, too. What do you folks think?

Words of the Week:

"The time is always right to do what is right." Martin Luther King, Jr.
I am dedicated, determined and diligent.

Makes me think of a similar sentiment re: integrity -- essentially, doing the right thing, even when no one is looking/paying attention.

HCB, any chance you're tracking changes to your BF% too? If so, any change with that?

Well done, you're a star! Well, I liked 'pillar of bad-ass calm'. But the new quote is a good reminder to get on with it. It's too easy to say 'It's not the right time for me to do this'. Before you know it, another year has gone by.

Older good habits are always the hardest to get back to. Well done you, keep up the good work.

You bet do the right thing is kinda what keeps me on track and makes me think do I want to wreck all my well laid plans and intentions by making bad choices. I wanted Pizza so bad the other day after moving the radiators because I wanted an easy meal and at the time part of me did not care what it was. I was hurting and aching and decided to just call it fend for yourself and I did not bother to fend for myself. I was to tired to care. But that was a better choice than spoiling my carb intake with a meal and throwing myself out of ketosis, among other things. Self sabotage is what that is.

What's the advantage of high fat concentration?

Very good words. I think getting more fit and losing inches is just as good, if not better than losing pounds. I for one, need to get over the idea that the scale is everything. I'm working on that. Congrats on your good progress.

Great job on calories yesterday, thats where I need to be under 1300. What is that bacon you are eating at lunch? I love bacon but feel I can not eat it as its so fattening.

I love that you always have such a positive outlook. Who cares if the weight loss is slow if you are feeling fit and strong! Way to go and keep it up. You are such an inspiration to me. :)

@ Frosty - yes, when the trainer is available, I do the clippers for body fat - but I have nit yet done it during this 90 challenge at the gym. I did 90 days, then signed up for the second 90 days, and likely will continue on through the end of 2015 Oct, Nov and Dec to continue losing body fat and building muscle.
