Story of my life. Out of onderland again. That didn't last long. I haven't been eating well at all lately though. We had a BIG cookout this weekend with several of our kids and grandkids. I stuck to meat and fruit. Not TOO bad. I've also discovered that I can NOT eat Raisin Bran. This really makes me sad, because it's my favorite, but I notice that since I've been eating that for breakfast, the weight loss completely stopped. Sigh....

Back to the grindstone today. I can do this! I am a child of the Most High God, which means I can do anything with His help!

Have a great week errbody!!

Cereals are full of sugar and carbs - tasty but deadly on the diet!

An idea. Lol sometimes I eat cereal for dinner with a sliced babana on top and am losing weight successfully. I keep lunch very light and breakfast is mainly coffee and something tiny like fruit or a piece of toast maybe. I believe it's not what we eat that matters, just the totals/portions for the day. Hope this helps.

Raisin Bran has quite a bit of sugar in it. Shouldn't really stall your weight loss unless you are on a low carb diet and retaining water with the glycogen or consuming too many calories.

I have GOT to work harder at controlling portions. I've always had a problem with this.

I used measuring cups and spoon for everything for a bit to get an idea of portions. It was an eye opener for me. Not tasting every bit while I cook and serve was hard too.

And I got rid of the huge glasses and dinner plates and bought lunch plates and only use 12oz cups.

I agree with Nicholaix. My portions was much too large, using measuring cups really opened my eyes. Also, if you're into heavy dieting weighing your food is a great idea as well. A food scale at walmart is 10 to 15 bucks.

Rockiesfan...oh no you didn't!! LOVE LOVE LOVE me some crunch berries. Haven't had those in a while. I'm gonna be honest and tell y'all there is NO way I'm going to measure portions, lol. I could say that I will, but....it won't happen. Ain't no one got time for that! :) I do like the idea of smaller plates though. I need to do that. I think I've been heavy on the sodium lately, so I'm sure that plays a part.

I did and I'll tell you straight up Capt Crunch is the sugary cereal there is on the market.

I bought some Hi-Lo cereal that I eat with 1/2 cup of coconut milk. It is low calorie and low carb. 1/2 cup of the cereal has 6 net carbs. It is a good cereal, it might be a good replacement for Raisin Bran. I order this cereal from Walmart.com because I can't get it at the store here. I had to buy 6 boxes, but it is worth it. I was very hungry for cereal too.

Miscalculating portions is the death of weight loss. Everyone underestimates how much they eat w/o measuring. A "serving" of cereal is a tiny amount. I use measuring cups and spoons and a scale especially for calorie dense foods like cheese and peanut butter. You wouldn't believe how small an ounce of cheese is! The point I'm trying to make is yes, it's totally a pain in the butt to measure food but it's the only way to know how much you're actually eating. I think when people say "I diet but I never lose weight", they may be eating more than they think they are. I would consider measuring a few things just to see if you are on track. What could it hurt? :)

I don't measure everything, but I did for a short time to give myself a sense of portions. Sometimes, when I try a new food I will measure out the first serving, just so I have an idea of what I am eating calorie-wise. I know that it is an extra step, but I recommend you try it once for things like raisin bran that you want to eat all the time. :)
