Greetings Best Buddies:
I had a slightly frustrating morning - one of my tires was low so my DH and I went to the gas station to fill the tire and much to our surprise the whole valve stem flew right off the tire leaving it completely flattened!
Of course, it is Sunday and the usual place we go was closed. So, the car became immediate priority. I have run-flat tires on my little Mazda Miata. The TiresPlus would not sell one tire - they pushed me to get a full set! So, between the tires and an alignment - over $800.
And I had to postpone my workout, too! I will go tomorrow morning to make up for missing today! I used the MCT oil in my Bulletproof coffee this morning but didn't get to the gym to know if it makes any difference.
BUT, because the day is crazy - I will end up with a 21 hour intermittent fast! That could be good in the long run!

Yuck -- I can't think of anything more frustrating (and that I'm loathe to spend money on) than car repair . . . but no surprise that you found a silver lining with your 21-hour fast perspective! Enjoy what's left of the weekend!

Ouch! Sorry about your tires but know you are safer in your car now. The workout can and will wait. Try to enjoy the benefits of the intermittent fast.

@Glen - yes, they are special sport tires and run-flats meaning you can drive on them with a flat to get to a garage if necessary.

Be glad this was not you: Friends of mine from HS got married yesterday - today when they leave for their honeymoon... vehicle 1 relay switch died, vehicle 2 flat tire, vehicle 3 another flat tire.... They only had 3 vehicles.... talk about stay home from the honeymoon so nothing else bad can happen. Glad you still saw an upside to it all. Hope the rest of your sunday is good.

I can't believe they made you buy a whole set of tires!! That's just ridiculous. Glad you found the good in the bad though! I hope the next week brings better things!

I know - Classic! My husband was bending down trying to fill the tire then I heard a whoosh as all the air rushed out of the tire! At first we had no idea what happened until we saw the valve was missing!

OH my goodness!! They always push for a full set. 2 make sense usually not all 4. I took mine in for an estimate for brakes and they told me I needed all new tires and new wipers. The tires were about 6 months old and the windshield wipers were a week, they also said I needed brake fluid for replacing the pads--nope not needed and a bunch of other things. Didn't get them done there, my SiL replaced them for me with the help of GD.

Sorry to hear about your tires. At least they are all new so you will not have to replace them for awhile. I hope you have a better day tomorrow.

Sounds to me like they really took advantage of your bad luck. Ugh, that sucks!! The bright side, as stated above, won't have to worry about that again for a while. Hope you are having a much better start to today :)

HCB, Any shop that would try and do a whole set of tires is not a good shop you can purchase just one tire at a time without issue. I would try and get in contact with the owner or general manager, I mean there is a certain amount of upsale in the industry but that is silly.

I knew I could have easily pushed for two tires - but in the big picture I decided I probably needed tires as they all were the same age. I just hate how they lie -
