Yesterday's exercise did not happen, my body is regretting that this am. Asthma issues took over my day and limited what I could do. The air quality seems improved a bit this morning but starting out with some extra meds to hopefully make the day go better.

Taking the triplets home shortly before it gets too hot should be home by noon. Then hopefully tackle inside projects. We did get the new halogen light installed above my sink, YAY!! I also have the kitchen ceiling fan mostly installed, still have parts that need to be added. We also made some bird toys for insane parrot's new cage. I'll put one in today and see how he does with it. He isn't much for change.

I've eaten more meat again with the boys here, my body is also rebelling from that. So back on a good plan for me today and will freeze the remaining ham. I did take a container of smoked pork and ham to my elderly neighbor.

The watermelon rind is in the frig waiting for me to get those pickles started as well. They need a day to soak then pickle them tomorrow.

I'm struggling with air quality issues, too -- although I've never discussed with a physician or gotten an official diagnosis, I struggle with congestion/coughing after exercising outdoors on bad air days and on really cold days. It's a bummer, b/c I prefer exercising in Mother Nature vs. a/c. Enjoy the rest of your week off! :)

My great aunt used to make the rind pickles. Mine were always slimy, hers were crispy. She died at 90 something before I attempted canning so no clue how she made them. I'm trying a recipe from an old cookbook, different from what I've tried before. The air is better today as the humidity is down from 90% to about 50%. Still spending the afternoon inside as the ozone is still up there as is the mold. Boys are home, big sis had been enjoying her vacation from the brothers and wanted them to stay longer. I missed having my basement living space available for them. It'll be a 2 day project at least putting all that back together as I want to sort through stuff, get rid of some. Now to clean house! do laundry! and the house always feels cooler with the clutter gone and the floors clean. Cooling down at the moment after the 80 mile drive.

Glen, laughing because I almost never go there, it's too far away. We have one on the opposite side of the metro it's 70+ mile round trip for me through usually frustrating traffic. I like it but also think some things are overpriced, I'm thankful that a Sprouts has opened up on this side of town and hoping their success will promote other more naturally geared markets to open up. My name on this site ended up that way because everything else I put in was already taken LOL. I figured that fit my way of eating -- whole natural foods- nothing linked to the store.

Losinit, if your issues get any worse please consult your doc. If you have asthma it can be dangerous. I've lost 2 dear friends to it in their 40's because they were not taking care of themselves. I've learned that I have to pay attention to my limits if I don't want to get in trouble with asthma attacks. Thankfully, I haven't had an all out one in a couple years. I hate taking the meds but my choice is breathing. I love the outdoors and get annoyed at being stuck inside at times also.

Will do! I plan to go for a complete physical this fall and I'll discuss it then . . . thanks for the concern!

I think we have your 90% humidity and it popped up to the high 80s the next few day just teetering under 90F BLEH I hate the heat.. I am cranky and not as productive. My poor cat is like mom, i get da fan. Laying on her back belly exposed and yes I turned the fan on the poor lil fuzzball.

Losinit, I've had breathing issues since my early 30's. Docs say it's because I grew up in a cloud of cigarette smoke, back then no warnings about it being bad for anyone. I have the scars from smoking on my lungs and have never smoked.

Yeah I've been getting weather service bulletins all afternoon, bad storms blowing through. Heats bad enough without being cooped up inside with the boys because of hail and lightning.

AWWW Kelly, you probably don't have ac in Maine. My pup doesn't even want to go outside, course it may be that she is tired after keeping track of the boys LOL. Sleeping on the couch. We didn't have AC in New England except in a couple apartments I lived in when I was in my twenties and we didn't have any here when I lived in the country, just fans. Now for me it is a necessity. It was 97 on my way home between 12 and 1 it will get warmer as the day goes on, the high is usually around 5. I remember when I lived in a Boston brownstone in back bay I loved my birthday present from my Dad, a window fan!! I think I kept that thing for 20+ years before it died.

OH sorry Nichol, hope no serious storms, big hail and lightening can cause damage. Here also have had the boys inside much more than usual due to the heat and bad air. Glad for wii games, teaching the crazy pup new things, and netflicks as they don't have their normal stuff here to do.

OK, trying to install the rest of a ceiling fan, started yesterday with triplets "help" as they each thought they knew how better than the directions. Decided easier on my own. Went and bought beer. ;)) and ice cream for the boys. The estimated time 45 min. I'm guessing that is for someone who is good at this. For this novice it's now 4 or 5 hours and I'm not done yet... LOL . Going OK but slow. So excited to get my lights up though.

YAY!! about 6 hours and I have the ceiling fan/light installed and it's working perfectly no need to balance it.. nothing close to the 45 min on the directions LOL. Novice at this.
