Hello there. Wow, has there ever been a lot going on. My primary care physician of the last 15 years is retiring.

One of my "friends" did something mean in front of a room full of people, effectively ending a friendship of more than 2 years. She proceeded to ignore me, mock me, and get her friends involved in the project. This woman is 15 years my senior, and was acting like we were in middle school. Not really new behavior, but my new feelings of confidence and self-worth made it easy for me to shake it off and rise above. She came over to "apologize" to me after 2 weeks, but she was really telling me that she was sorry I thought she was judging me, and that she was right in doing what she did. I thanked her for her words, smiled, and walked away. She followed, saying that we needed to sit down and discuss this further. I told her that I didn't think it was necessary. She said that she did. I told her that I didn't, smiled and walked away.

Since ending that friendship, so many more doors have opened for me to form new friendships. Apparently, there are a lot of people that don't care for her at all. I don't talk about what happened, just am happy that I'm enjoying widening my circle of friends and possibilities.

I made an appointment with my primary care doctor, to say thanks and farewell, to set my prescriptions in order, and to have her check out the hand that I closed in my car door. My middle finger took the brunt of the damage, and I need to go in for an X-ray. She was impressed and a bit concerned by my rapid weight loss, so I told her about Shakeology, the support team that comes with it, and the breaking of my addiction to sugary sweets. She's fascinated by it, and wants to know more, so I'm sending her my empty package so she can see the ingredients, nutritional information, and all that.

She told me that I should stay a size 6 (may size six shorts were getting loose), and explained her concern that should I get sick and lose my appetite, my body would consume my muscles, as I don't have a lot of fat left. She was very happy with my muscle building, but wanted me to put a little padding on the muscles. So, I've been eating more of the healthy foods I've been enjoying. She wrote orders for a lipid panel so I could see if my cholesterol ratio was improved (good number, just too much bad cholesterol last time I had it tested), and I'm very curious about my triglyceride levels, too.

We also discussed the fact that I have asthma & MS, and am getting older, and decided I could use a pneumonia vaccine. My arm got sore, but I went to Zumba the next morning. Gina was teaching, so it was high-energy magic! We did a lot of arm work, and my arm started hurting more. By the time I got home, it was red and swollen around the injection site. I put ice packs on it, but the pain increased, and a few red streaks started inching away from the site....

This morning, my partner came & checked on me, took a look and a feel of my shoulder, & said "I'm taking you to Immediate Care this morning!" I agreed, because it really hurt & was scaring me, as the pain spread, and the red streaks snaked into my armpit....and my coach said that the same thing happened to her from the same thing and she put off being seen and she ended up with cellulitis.

Diagnosis, fairly severe allergic reaction to vaccine. Treatment; 3 days of steroids, 7 days of Allegra, and in not improved, I return for antibiotics. Oh, yeah, no exercising for 3 days. Argghhhh! I will survive; I have tons of stuff to catch up on.

Hmm, guess I'd better message my primary care doctor, so she can add this to my chart for the new doctor that will be taking her place when she retires.

I didn't sleep well last night because of the pain, but now I have steroids coursing through my veins; what a combination. Tired, yet my mind is racing. Scattered thoughts. I made some new lemon and cherry protein energy balls (yum!), and plan on making Greek burgers & salad for dinner tonight. I hope I can focus my scattered energies and get stuff done, without aggravating my arm/whole left upper quadrant of my body.

I promised a friend some information, got the info from my coach, but can't find the words to put together and e-mail for my friend. I can type 90 miles a minute here, though, lol.

Okay, guess I'll say farewell for now. Just letting you know that I'm okay, better than ever, except for this allergic reaction.
