Another morning in the 40's at least the sun is peeking through, my patio is wet so we had more rain overnight. Hoping the sun will chase away my low energy from yesterday, foggy days seem to do that to me. Low 60's for highs, dang it's cold for May.

Late to bed so slept in till a bit after 7. Need to do a quick run to the store for more containers to get things back on my pantry shelves. It's too wet to play in the dirt today so will continue on my house and maybe some outside non dirt projects. I need to get my smoker and grill area cleaned up yet and organized. Right now it's a mess.

This is actually WOE related as planning, cooking, and clean-up will be so much easier with my kitchen finally mostly organized to fit my needs. I still need a run to IKEA which will be an after work trip as I will be halfway there.

Checked the Noaa.gov website. Rain is predicted every day from Friday through next Wed, that's as far out as it goes. Sheesh!! the rivers are already flooding.

I know how you feel.....I am so sick of this rain. Staying inside is such a bummer. Hopefully, the sun will shine this weekend and I can get out in the garden and pool! All this rain does is make me hungry (I know, I know.....it's not hunger, it's boredom!) I think I'll focus on making the Healthy Squash/Kale Casserole I am planning for dinner! Oh no, food visions....YIKES!

We've got rain predicted Sunday through Friday. Told DH that he's likely to see a lot of me next week lol. I'm going to walk extra miles this week to bank for next week. Have to set a good example for my challenge. Today's walk was cold and windy. Not used to this in May.

Polly, probably bored! Hope you get some sun, it's sunny here but still in the 50's and with 2 inches of rain yesterday really wet. Your dinner sounds good. Hey, I think food a lot, it's ok just healthy choices. I'm basically a major foodie. Am re-packaging all my dry food ingredients to put in my pantry, drawers, and turntable cabinet and watching chopped... I'm in the midst of re-doing my kitchen. I collect cookbooks, have well over 500 and keep buying more. I read them cover to cover like novels. I garden, grow many herbs and some veggies.

So tired of the rain and cool weather, not used to it either in May. It's actually not bad out, though in the 50's the wind died down and the sun is out. Might get to 65. So the afternoon will be outside. I hope the rain does not contribute to your stress.

I understand how important an organized kitchen is. I'm not the chef you are, but when I go to my pantry for black beans, there damn well better be black beans there where I can grab them quickly and get back to my cooking.

Cannot believe how many different dry food items I have to re-package into fitting into my new pantry shelves! Some are going into 2 big file cabinet sized drawers in the kitchen desk and the corner turntable. I use the desk as a prep table not a desk. I'm out of room on spices/herbs and have more to go!! My big dining room table is still full as is my corner turn table cabinet!!! It should work better being able to see what I really have. I had one kind of lentils in 4 different containers now in one!! Being more organized will be a plus.

Glen, I remember a long time ago, I was about 10, being in the desert in Mew Mexico after it rained, it was beautiful!! We either are dry or are inundated by too much rain here in the heartland. We get slammed here smack in the middle with fronts from everywhere. This spring we all wish it would quit for awhile.

I'm a Dessert Rat too Glen! It has not been very warm here though! I am looking for a rock to crawl under until the rain goes away!

The desert is great! We've had more rain than usual and more cool weather. I think the heat is just about to get here, tho. I've really enjoyed being able to have windows and doors open this year.

That's good I assume that extra rain in the desert is a good thing. I will hate shutting the house up and the ac on here shortly as the heat rolls in so it's possible to sleep. Laughing just saw the typo Mew Mexico instead of New. We are thankful we have just had rain and no severe weather.

Just arrived on the website. I'm in the midwest US, where 50 degree F is considered spring. We are planting a butterfly garden today. Breakfast was my first of the diet: 3 eggs, 2tbl cream cheese 1/2 cup spinach and 2tbs lumpfish caviar. I felt like I was living :0

Nice Ramsey, I'm in Independence MO, right next to Kansas City. It's cool for the end of May. A butterfly garden! how nice! I would love to till to get a bed in for my Jerusalem artichokes but too muddy. I did manage to get most of my veggies in but still have a few more to plant. Hoping for a few dry days in a row again so I can. May tuck some cucumber seeds in the mud...

My husband is making new raised beds of cedar and picking up the corrugated metal today! We had tried to make beds last year of old wood and pallets around the farm - but they just broke down. Plenty of old manure for good soil - to much - friends say they would love it - but never come! I might have to make presents out of it - here ya go - happy birthday….We LOVE St. Louis - just went though there a couple of weeks ago. City Museum rocks.

We could use some rain here in New England. Been very dry the last several weeks, and we are several inches behind on rainfall. So far, the effects are not too bad, but if it keeps up, it could be a problem later this summer. Love the organized kitchen! Definitely makes cooking more enjoyable.

Dang that global warming! Too much of this - not enough of that. I just heard from the vet that a Texas Tick is making its way North - global warming again. Bringing with it a whole new bevy of disease. We have had just enough snow and rain for the farmers this Winter Spring (so far). 2 Summers ago - our Spring that comes from under (yes under) our house dried up. Tht was the year of all the draughts throughout the US. I think of Steinback's novels set in California - when I think of the draught they are experiencing now.

Just what we need more ticks, I hate ticks!! Have 2 bites that are finally healing after 4 weeks. I panic every time I pick one up as I had lime disease a few years ago-- so painful but was lucky to get on a Z pack the same day the rings appeared. I feel badly for those in that drought especially the farmers. Global warming?? it's cold.

Wholefoodnut, I wish I could share pics on this app.....my husband setup a fantastic Elfa pantry for me....and, being mildly OCD, I put all of my grains, flours, rice, and such in beautiful glass jars with printed (by machine, natch) labels. I'd also like to send you a pic of the strawberry tart my daughter (owns a home bakery) made this morning. The tart is beautiful....and, best of all, it's lo-cal. I LOVE TO COOK and she LOVES TO BAKE. As a result, we are all watching what we eat.....which is really hard when my kitchen is filled with wonderful smells every night. Last night I succumbed to her granola (which is fab) and my scale showed the results this morning. I am NOT blaming her for my error in judgement....just saying it's tough when you view cooking as exercise. LOL!
