I'm still trying to catch up to my life, but I just had to share a nice little tip I discovered with all my chocoholic buddies out there. When you are craving chocolate, buy the bar that is 88% cocoa. Trust me you can not eat very much of this stuff. Your tongue would be angry with you if you did. wow. that is some chocolate.

I'll have to try that, not sure that I have. I read somewhere that chocolate needs to be at least 74% cocoa to have the healthy benefits associated with dark chocolate.

Will have to try that. I'm bad about buying dark chocolate chips, and go overboard with how many I eat at one time.

For realz....I have an 82% chip sample sitting in my work drawer (I work at a chocolate factory, quality control tech), and the bitterness/richness definitely sinks in quickly

YOU WORK AT A CHOCOLATE FACTORY AND YOU DO NOT WEIGH AS MUCH AS THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY??? I could not do that job. Kudos to you! The 88% is super bitter, but just sweet enough that you know you're eating chocolate. I had read that about the benefits of dark chocolate too and to only eat about an ounce. I thought 88% that's got to be really healthy right? This whole bar was three ounces and I'm thinking there's no freaking way I could eat a whole ounce without becoming a very bitter person, because you are what you eat right? ha! Sorry, anyway it did get rid of my craving without inhaling the whole bar.

Haha I have a hard time, I CRAVE the dark chocolate so I end up snagging it up...the milk chocolate eh.....I could take it or leave it....the dark chocolate tends to have more fat in it and less sugar so it's better for people on a diet like Atkins...if you can find one that has cocoa versus chocolate liquor (or a combo of the two) in the ingredients that one will have less fat AND less sugar....just an FYI

I'm going to have to hunt down that chocolate!! I get really hungry for chocolate occasionally so I need a source. The corner stores mostly have milk chocolate except for semi sweet chips. I end up with a bag of those and devour them . Not good.

I don't eat chocolate at all because I only like the creamy milk chocolate. Not a good food for me. It's great if you like the dark.

I definitely had to train my pallet to like the dark, now the milk tastes funny to me. I bet Sprouts would have something. I found this at a Kroger where I just happened to be working.

Sprouts does, IC. It's a planned trip out of my normal path. Course there are several other places I haunt nearby like Home Depot and Lowes, so one trip shopping. A little further than the ones I usually go to. LOL My friends think I'm nuts that I get lost in Home Depot, supposedly a guy thing.

Count me in, I'm having my daily ration of chocolate only because I did 2 miles on the treadmill plus weights tonight. I earned this chocolate bar!

Found some 85% at aldis today $1.99. Figured I'd look as I stopped in for a few other things. Ate 1/2 of a serving on the way home, should have eating 1/2 of that. So rich it was really too much. But very good.

I meant to add that I was thinking it would be terrific shaved over berries. I can almost taste it over fresh raspberries.

See what I mean? You really have to put some effort in to eat a whole serving. Nice find at Aldi's! I bet that would be awesome over any fruit. I worked at Home Depot for almost 8 years,I get it.

Wholefoodnut, great idea...I do that for my hubby, melt some down and make chocolate covered berries...otherwise I can't get him to eat fruit lol....just like a kid ;)

World Market sells a 99% cacao bar – the label indicates 1g sugar in a serving (½ of a bar). Yes, I know 99% is high, but then I can eat straight bakers chocolate, but the minute amount of sugar takes the edge off bakers choc… The World Market bar is nice because you it has 8 break-points and makes portion control easier. I like to eat one square (1/4 serving) with 1/2 oz of Brazil nuts.
