Peanut, Peanut Butter...Peanut, Peanut Butter...aaaaaaaaaaarrrgghhhh!!! Getting rid of the Peanut and Almond Butters in my house will sooooo help me at this point. However, not ready for that just yet.

Coming off of living a Weight Watchers lifestyle for the last 3 years has deemed me 'peanutbutterless'.

I am more interested in getting off of sugar at this time so by the time these jars are finished I can let it go and not replace it (I tell myself :)

Why get rid of peanut butter? I have lost over 100 lb. eating 2 tablespoons of peanut butter every morning! It keeps me full until lunch. I love Smucker's All Natural Creamy.

I have been on WW for 12 years and coming off...what a challenge to change mindset! We can do it!

I agree. I ate a teaspoon of Peter Pan Reduced Fat P'nut butter on one slice of Pumpernickel bread for lunch many times and it's not that bad. It's like anything else--it's how much you eat of one thing. Eating too many carrots can be really bad for you. :) The only time I would suggest staying away from something is if you can't stop once you start--like candy. LOL. My Mom will eat an entire box of candy if she eats one piece (and she is not only tiny, but skinny--errr).

Oh, I see you are on Atkins. Yeah, I went on that once many years ago. Lost 50 lb in 6 months, but I would have killed for an orange at the end of that diet. I gained back the weight so fast. Just could not stop eating carbs until I regained more than I'd lost. I never could stand the thought of that diet again.

Wow, thanks for your responses! I lost over 100 lbs on WW but have gotten back into sugary things and really overdoing it. So much that I have put on about 20 lbs. I have decided that Atkins will help me get off sugar again and then I will decide which way to go.

Almond butter is great and can be sugar and salt free. Is the issue that you cannot manage portion control? Otherwise it is a good fat with protein.

Yup, portion control it is!

Ahh yes I understand that ... You will someday get to eat it again in moderation!

I can't do Atkin's. I'm not against it. I'm not against anything that works for someone because we all lose in different ways. The only way I can lose is calories, weigh every day and exercise (exercise is the one thing I need to do and have not done recently!).

I love fresh ground almond butter! I measure out a tablespoon of it, mix it with a Tbsp of plain nonfat greek yogurt, and use that as a spread on a piece of homemade whole wheat toast or a whole wheat English muffin. It's a great breakfast, especially before a workout. Quick & easy, I have it almost every day. I do understand the need to step away from something for a while. Wow, I totally respect your drive to get yourself off sugar. I'm trying to cut down, and it's not easy.

I love nuts and nut butters so it was hard cutting back on peanut butter. Eating the whole nuts makes it so much easier with portion control, plus you have the crunch. Eating the pre-measured amount of nuts and chewing slowly helps. Good fats, vitamins, and protein in nuts are great. Satiety factor is high with whole nuts. Eventually it will be easier with portioning peanut butter. Good for you cutting down on sugar!
