Diea's Journal, 30 January 2015

Well, well, well. I am shocked. I am happy but shocked. My stress levels this week were in the emergency range. I had unhealthy snacks before going to bed. I feel fat.

But...

Let me celebrate this victory and the victories I had this week. I ate a healthy breakfast everyday. I had fruit as snacks instead of chips or chocolate this week. There was four boxes of donuts in the office one morning, and I didn't overdo my indulgence; actually, I think I altered my eating times to allow for digesting. I bought groceries so I only ate out once this whole workweek, on a my long day when I'm out of the house for 14 hours. I also had a green smoothie for dinner on Monday.

Perhaps the biggest victory is making time to work out in the midst of incredible stress. This semester, my goal is to work out at least once a week but to strive for twice. And I've been doing this! This last victory might just be the reason I'm losing weight. Maybe I have muscle mass now that is revving my body to burn fat while I'm at rest.

Now that I've written everything down, I'm not as shocked by this week's decline. Ah.... This journal really does help. 😆

After all that stress you needed a win and boy did you win big! Great job on your control, your eating, and your exercise. I also find that a week of homecooked meals is better than eating healthy restaurant meals. I do better all around if I control what goes into my food.
