I was a bit disappointed when I weighed in this morning; I didn't lose. I'm glad I didn't gain, though. In looking over my food logs, I think the problem is that I keep coming in way under my RDI. I've also realized that I'm not getting enough carbs. My blood sugar has been a little high as a result.
I run out of ideas for things to eat, though! I guess that's a good problem to have, and certainly beats eating everything in sight like I used to do.
I've also decided to go ahead and do my annual Christmas baking. I had been debating it, because I do love sweets. I'm a decent baker, so I also love *my* sweets. :) I didn't want to risk eating them all.
Still, I realize that the world is going to be pretty consistent about presenting me with challenges and temptations, so I might as well learn to coexist with them as peacefully as possible. I've selected a variety of diabetic-friendly recipes for this year, so that will allow me to enjoy a few of the results -- judiciously, of course.
I baked my first batch of cookies last night. I sampled one cookie (and owned it on my food journal) and put the rest in tins for friends and family on Christmas day.
I think I'll be okay this year.
