HAPPY THANKSGIVING, MY FS Friends! Had a wonderful time of food and visiting with friends and family. Way too much food! I'm already seeing the expanding waistline since I slacked off of the running and the strength training. Can't get into the doctor until the 16th. It's not an emergency, but would like to see if the doc will order an MRI or something to make sure it isn't anything more than a pulled muscle. I would have expected more improvement in the time I've been taking it easier. Anyway, it was a great day. After everyone left, I went in and practiced the worship songs for Sunday. Had a friend and his wife over for dinner, and he brought his new electric guitar. It was a beauty, and he has already ordered a second guitar. why do I tell you that? Because he can't play a lick! 😃 so, while the girls were putting the finishing touches on dinner, I spent some time getting him started on the right foot, as well as explaining to him that it can become an unhealthy addiction to want to buy every pretty guitar you see on eBay. I advised him to learn how to play what he had. A good guitarist can make a low budget guitar sound great, but a pitiful guitar player can't make the most expensive masterpiece sound good at all. I think he got the message. So, anyway, he was thrilled to have some kind of structure in his learning plan, instead of trying to pick his way to stardom watching some talented lead guitarist in a rock band. All he wanted to do was learn how to strum and pick out a melody here and there. He's in his mid 40's, a terrible money manager, but with medical problems that confine him to home most of the time. So, I think playing a musical instrument can be a great vehicle for coping with boredom and allowing him to express himself.
Hope everyone had a great day, and that you all have a wonderful weekend. Toodles!
