Has anyone heard of Noom? My sister has lost quite a bit of weight and she has been using Noon which is basically kinda like fatsecret. I downloaded the free app. There is also a paying app which could be much better but the free app kinda sucks. It doesn't recognize half the barcodes I scan. If I have eaten something not in their database I can't add it. I'm just SOL so I have to pick something kinda like it and add that instead. I can't track ounces of weight it only takes whole pound weigh ins so you have to struggle with if you round up or down or downright lie. Oh and they determine certain foods to be good or great and for the life of me I don't get it. All I know is oatmeal and bananas are great and lettuce was just ok. Who knows. It seems random. That being said...

It also has these cool trackers that look like measuring tapes and it tracks the days I workout or number of meals that I have tracked without slacking. It's always telling me I've overeaten in big giant numbers. You over ate by THIS MUCH.. And well I've worked out 4 days in a row and tracked.. and stayed accountable. Heck I didn't even lie about the cookies yesterday. I recorded them to see the big giant numbers to see if the elliptical could make a dent in them. So I think this proves that I'm entertained by really simple things and Noom free app is a love hate relationship. I should find other app trackers just for the heck of it. It seems to keep me on track. Because well.. I'm a big kid.

So now I'm floating around 190 and 185 is my new goal for december.. instead of november. It was novembers but that just doesn't seem to be happening. Darn you cookies! But the good thing is I'm working out :)

I think you should play around with as many different ones as you want to keep you interested. Some have 1 good thing that you like and not much else. I signed up with MyFitnessPal just because they have a way to put in ingredients for a homemade meal and then figure out the calories and nutrition by cup or ounces, but that is the only thing I use their site for.

Myfatsecret has an app with barcode reader. Have you tried that?

I constantly use the barcode reader on my fatsecret app.. make sure though you have some good lighting (does not necessarily be "overly bright" but not dim eihter)

I've used the fatsecret app it has its good and bad things too. It does seem better than Noom though. At least the free Noom. Why's it called Noom anyways??

I use the fatsecret app all the time. I enter my food as I eat it and that helps me make sure I track everything. There are also apps for calorie counter, atkins, My Fitness Pal and some others. I have tried all of them to be honest but Fatsecret is the best by far. I do like the fact that some track the amount of water you drink. As for exercise, did you know that the beach body folks have a pretty serious exercise tracker. You even get a coach if you want one. I signed up but have not gotten started yet. Let me know if you want to sign up and we can be buddies. I think my coach would even be willing to add you. He is a co-worker of sorts. If you find an app that is as good as this one and includes more fun features let me know please :)

Then there's Fitbit - tracks exercise, sleep, stairs, steps, food, calories - if you over eat on this one you get a big red crossed knife and fork - it's funny. If you get a Fitbit, the dashboard gives you tons of information and graphs.

I used My fitness Pal for the last 2 years....just left it because I was having troubles with it double entering my food intake. I still use it for the recipes though....I love that it breaks down the calories per serving
