Deb_N's Journal, 25 October 2014

Thanks for the prayers and support and comments on my Thursday journal. The eye doctor appointment was good and he wants me to go back in two months. After the eye exam, my son asked if we could go to a restaurant. He said I could have an omelet made from egg whites, because I am watching my cholesterol. I realized that he had not had breakfast and I did not eat either, so I said ok. We ordered and before the server brought the coffee, I picked out a Hazelnut coffee creamer. He asked me if I was sure I wanted that. Extra calories, you know! I said I'm going to splurge today. It just seemed so funny to me that a 30 calorie cream was a splurge. Instead of potatoes, fruit or English muffin with my omelet, I chose "dressed greens" which was low carb. I checked their website when I got home, and I was surprised how low in calories the whole meal was. I feel really healthy, and working on my stress and getting more sleep has been the best thing for me. I wish everyone a great day and great weekend. Take care of yourself!

Good news from the doc. And lovely news from your son - he observes and cares about you. Sweeter than any candy, I'm sure.

I agree with Ce, .....& I get the "splurge" cuz my "dessert" is warm bread :)

So glad things went well with they eye dr. Both my children are adults now but it seems my son thinks more about my health then my daughter. I know they both love me and don't want anything to happen to me. My daughter is more the take charge type. It's nice to know that your son understands what you're doing and supports you and tries to help.

Good on you - choosing mindfully at a restaurant is a gold star and considering the 30 cal creamer the 'splurge' is a major well done.
