This is getting very depressing. I'm sticking very closely to my diet and I seem to have hit a plateau. I guess the only thing to do to shake it up is to really cut back greatly on calories.

Sometimes it's not as simple as energy out > energy consumed. If you don't mind me saying, your intake appears low as it is. My personal experience is that going below 1,000 leaves you so hungry that you over splurge for a longer period than you intended, so going lower may not help. Perhaps your body has taken it upon itself to conserve energy for you because you aren't consciously giving it enough fuel. Have you considered a cheat day? I'm not saying eat a side of beef or a large pizza by yourself, but up the intake for a day and then return to "diet" levels in the morning. Keep your head up and stay the course. You should bust through that plateau.

I hit plateaus now and then. They are usually caused by water retention (either it got really hot like this week or I had too much sodium in my diet). I started taking measures to reduce that (always good) and things progress again. Watch your sodium and drink more water (which is always a good thing). I recommend the sparkling ICE sparkling mineral water with flavors. I find the lemonade very refreshing. 0 calories, no artificial sweeteners, no sodium, and has added B vitamins. Good stuff.

Sorry not to respond sooner but had an outpatient procedure and have been hurting. I am starting to cheat a little bit (about 200 calories) one a week and got it going down again! Whoppee!!
