kathyeastlick's Journal, 20 August 2014

This was a good week. I've had to be more creative with my exercise. I couldn't get out and walk due to the smoke outside, so I worked harder on inside exercise. My motto that I try to remind myself daily - "There are no more excuses."

Me too! boy I really struggled yesterday with keeping out of the blackberry cobbler. I did pretty good and then it was screaming my name from the kitchen! I should have calculated the calories before plunging into it. Didn't have that much and it really messed me up for the rest of the day. That day is over, and today is a fresh start. What I like about FS is I know I have buddies out there, who will be encouraging me along my path. I hope I will help someone else, as well.

A rare treat, fresh blackberry cobbler. Things like that are worth the splurge for me. Hope you enjoyed, and just adjust and go back on plan.

Making appreciation quilts for firefighters and crews. Too much sewing!! means too much sitting and not enough walking! My ankles are swelling, and I still have quite a bit of sewing to get done this week-end. Met up with my sewing girls again today. We've made 8 quilts since last tuesday. Lots of home made goodies brought in to snack on, too tempting to avoid. Didn't eat enough healthy foods the past few days, so I'm craving carbs, and sweets. The smoke is almost solid to the ground at times, and hardly anyone is going outside bc of the bad air quality. Even the local schools are delaying opening bc of dangerous air quality. It's at least an hours drive to escape the smoke, at best. I will try again tomorrow to stay on track better. The temping goodies are loosing their appeal, and the taste isn't that incredible either, so why do I weaken, and eat them anyways? I feel like I might miss out on something. DUMB, dumb, dumb!!

Kathy where are you with these fires? WOW!! That's a lot of sewing!!! Some of the ankle swelling may be from your body's reaction to all that smoke. I'm buying fleece this weekend pink camo and solid pink. Making a double fleece quilted blanket for my great granddaughter's baby shower, she will get a real quilt when she is born. Just found out about the shower and it's September 6 not enough time for a special quilt, and I want to meet mom first. I've only talked to her on Facebook.
