hoosier436's Journal, 31 July 2014

If I continue this pattern of weight loss...for my next Doctor's appointment I will be down to 263 lbs! From July to October I would, if I continue to loose as much, another 40 lbs-- and since I started this change of life style I would loose about 110 lbs or so! I just can not imagine how much different I will look...
I guess I have a short term memory, I can not remember how I felt before I started this journey either.. well like I have always said.. I feel like I am like a frog in a pot of water, over a slow burner-- I do not notice the small changes... (eventually the frog will boil to death without realizing it-- no I am not expecting to die between now and then..lol..)

You are really doing great, Hoosier. As far as you have come, it seems like you are a good candidate for this question. How many instances of sitting at a plateau have you gone through as you lost 70 pounds? I find it frustrating when I sit in a place where I am doing that "lose a pound, gain a pound...." loop. Have you dealt with that much or has it been all on the down slope?

My biggest advice.. no matter how much you want it.. stay away from "unhealthy" sweets-- or if you need sweets-- make sure it is very limited and watch your calorie intake--and when I am full no matter what, I stop.. those are the three things that I have done.. Not really watching my sodium, or carbs intake.. but watching my calorie count-- Yes I get the munches at night.. I eat salads (my only cheat food.. I do not record it or the dressing-- which is either fat free or light) The couple of other words of advice I would give to you.. share your victories, share your defeats.. especially here on fatsecret.com. Most people understand where you are coming from.. yes there are those that tell you what you are doing wrong-- but for the most part it is a caring community, that are battling the same thing. Be honest with your recording of your calorie intake.. and lastly.. this is a life style change, that will take a life time- and not a diet.. a diet, once you get to that particular point- you might be tempted to go back to your old ways of eating.. No matter what, do not give up.. there have been times that I have been discouraged.. (thanks guys for the help during those times).. stay at it, be faithful to your life style change... I still look at myself and see fat.. and being fat.. especially around the stomach area.. and at times, I am so tempted to eat and eat and eat.. without counting the cost.. but I try to stay the course. I have cut out for the most part, beef- about less than a dozen times I have had red meat-- but wish I had not eaten it the next day.. A facebook friend of mine suggested that I write a book bout my experiences.. or get a hold of a tv station.. but I thought.. who would want to listen to me.. Thanks guys for the comments... if I can do it, anyone can.. seriously....
