Hope the break folks are speedy! And after that..... Happy Traaaiiiiils to you ;-) 

Brakes were way more than the estimate... think they were betting on a woman doing whatever. They also told me I needed a new battery and tires, battery is fairly new, tires are 1 year old and $900.00tires with almost no wear !!! Not doing anything. SIL and friend will do my brakes standard labor charge is a case of beer. And we get a company discount on parts from o riely's.  

Grrrrrr. Repair places like that annoy me no end. Yeah for SIL and friend.  

Yup, my middle daughter, mom of triplets, mud run racer and has gotten to be quite the mechanic, took a look at the estimate: her reaction was no way!! They are just playing you. Mike and John will do it. She had already let Mike (DH) know the estimate and he had said he would do it. The strange thing was that I know I have a small exhaust pipe leak and they didn't mention that.  

Probably a good thing they didn't catch it. They'd have recommended replacing the entire exhaust system!  

LOL! Yup not following anything they say... hate having to toke my car somewhere to be fixed. I know I can't trust them. Miss a small town sometimes.
