jmb3450's Journal, 14 July 2014

I had to take a break from being online and logging for a few days with everything that's been going on. I didn't stray too far, this morning's weigh in was a pound up from where I was last week. That's really not bad considering some of the stuff I've eaten, I have tried to be careful of quantities. My wife is home from the hospital, the first couple days home was a little rough but starting to do better. Several friends have brought meals by which is nice but not what I would have chosen to eat. Someone dropped off some roast chicken, salad and fruit for dinner tonight so that'll be good. My wife's oldest daughter came down from Buffalo this past weekend, going back today, it was a nice visit and good emotional support for my wife.

I need to get back to my eating and exercise plan, haven't exercised since last week. Hopefully today I can either get a walk in or get on the elliptical machine. I've got a doctor appt. coming up in the next 2 weeks, blood work to be done this Saturday and I'd like to be down to 230 lbs or close by the time I see the doc so that's a goal to work for.

Though it may be tough, please encourage your wife to do the p.t. at the office and at home. It's so important in the healing process.

Wow, sounds like things are going okay, but like you need to feel rejuvenated. Do the exercise! You will get a big bump in how you feel. I feel like a slug when I haven't done what I should in a few days and I just drag my but off of the coach and do it and I have never once regretted doing it. You can totally get to where you want to be and you won't regret a thing! Go for it!

You have an elliptical machine at home? If you do, that is awesome! If you don't want to leave your wife alone when you take a walk, just do some walking in the back yard or even in inside the house. Every step counts.

It's very nice of your friends to bring food but do they know you are on a diet? If it was me and I knew that you are eating healthy that's what I would bring you. Some people just don't care about supporting our diets. Like my friend, she always buys me chocolates and I mean like 2 pounds when it's a holidays or my birthday LOL

Glad to know your wife is home and is doing better from the surgery. It is a godsend to have friends who can step in when you really need them, that is a true blessing. I would not worry about the 1 pound gain, you are probably getting ready to drop a couple of pounds with all that is going on, you don't really realize how much exercise you are really getting in now. Good luck at the doctors and and again wishing your wife a speedy recovery.

i think you are doing GREAT all "things" considered. Sometimes I think that life gets in the way but then I think, "Wait a minute. Whatever happens IS my life." So I embrace it. So full - these lives of ours!

That lower case "i" is really bugging me. He-he-he-he-he-he! The post above SHOULD read, " 'I' think you are doing great with a BIG 'I.' "
