cagfire's Journal, 24 April 2014

When I started at the beginning of the year, I weighed 95kg. I couldn't do a single squat or even the most basic of exercises without getting out of breath. Having Myasthenia Gravis impacted dramatically on my health, and so with some trepidation and a lot of determination, I decided to join a gym, start working on my health and getting my self esteem back again.

Today, I am road cycling 30-50km 2-5 times a week. Hubby and I are registered for a 200km ride in October - 200km over 2 days! I'm regularly swimming an hour of laps at least once a week, and I'm getting to the gym 2-3 times a week depending on my work load.

I've gone down 3 dress sizes and I'm feeling much better within myself. I seem to be stuck around the 87kg mark, and I'm hoping it's the muscle to fat ration finding it's critical mass before it starts to go down on the scales. It's noticeable in the clothes, so that's what is most important.

My health is much improved and I have so much more energy. I'm no longer constantly fatigued and dragging my ass around all day like a dead dog!

I have days where I feel de-motivated, and I just take myself gently on this journey.

I'm doing stuff I've never done before and I'm proud of what I'm achieving.
