Deb_N's Journal, 21 April 2014

Went up a bit in weight, due to extra calories last night, which I did log in my food calendar. If I eat it, it has to go on my food calendar! I did not go over my RDI, so I was not cheating and that was good. It was not junk food that I ate but dark chocolate covered almonds, which is healthy unless you eat too many of them. LOL I wondered if I was on a binge because I read about other people talking about their binge. I decided that was not the case. I was just stressed out about a relative not making a credit card payment until the day before it was due! DOH
174.0 lb Lost so far: 28.0 lb.    Still to go: 38.0 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.

Good to see you are human after all! Lol;-) you are doing great! I love almond covered dark chocolate too but unlike you, I have no self control and end up eating the whole block!;-)

What ever the reason the chocolate almonds called to you. It seems to be over now. I hope you enjoyed them too. You have been so very faithful to the process of recording and making choices for your health. Thanks for the inspiration. J

For me it is also a success if I've managed to eat something like chocolate in moderation even if there is a minor short-term gain!

It's funny how one day later everything changes. If it is not one thing, it is another. I still have stress over some things going on with family members, but since I have no control over what others do, I am not going to stress over it. I have to be calm and stay sane. :)

That's what's special about some family members - they can wind you up in a way that others can't and you cannot cut them out of your life like you could someone else that you don't want to associate with.... I have a few of them in my family (or to be precise my other half's family)..... I use those people mentally as spurs to improve myself because I know that for every smile I give (however fake it may be) and for every success I make / achieve; for all the happiness that I show, for the gift of my children and my lovely husband - the more they see, the more envious they will become and keep away from me. That's all I want - for them to keep away from me and mine. Very often these people are small minded and in my case they are jealous and unhappy. Quite sad but no need for them to bring you down (easy to say, I know but not to easy to do) My advice Debs is to keep your distance as much as you can and always act "perfectly" and unflappably around them. They will either bore of you and your "perfect" ways or admire your example and try to follow (result!) or tire of winding you up if they think it has no effect. Good Luck xxx

Thank you, Kelly. If I get wound up by relatives, I have chest pain which brings on anxiety. So I have to learn how to de-stress. Relax and let others worry about their problems. I cannot do anything about their problems. They have to do it themselves. I just take it one day at a time.
