Good Morning, Loves! I would like to start with updates, as I keep forgetting to update you all once I get caught up in rants lol.

Kayla is conscious, breathing on her own, responding to simple commands 50% of the time, and smiling. She will survive, but it will be one hell of a recovery time, unsure if she will ever be back who she was before the car accident. Then again maybe that's a blessing in disguise, as she was headed down a dark road with some even darker people.

Copper is alive, well, and as good looking as ever. We paid for in house blood work to rule out infection, check his vital organ function etc. and everything came back normal. On Friday I will be taking him back for a thyroid test (that shit is expensive) because the vet thinks low thyroid is the likely culprit for his seizures. She thinks the weird eye thing that was going on was an optical seizure, affecting only his eyes. He is in no imminent danger, and for that I am thankful.

I have succeeded one hundred percent in staying off the scale, and after the weekend I had that wasn't difficult lol. I'm going to steal Kathy's line as far as food documentation: I ate it all, calories unknown. I suppose it's probably better that way. Good thing I have six weeks to make up for it lol.

Easter is always crazy stressful with the awkward family stuff, but I'm getting better at it! My brother didn't show up at grandma's house, and my mom and I heard about it believe me. My grandma is hurt when he doesn't come around, and it's hard because aside from my mother and I, nobody in the family knows he is an addict. I have never told out of respect for my mother, who seems to think that rather than getting support from the family she would end up getting a relentless assault of lessons on all the things she should have done differently. It's hard because everybody thinks my brother is just a cocky asshole, not entirely the case. I did enjoy time with my uncles and a few of my cousins that came out. Dinner was delish, and that's the end of that.

Moving forward with a new week, I need to start by grocery shopping. If I'm going to do this right, I have to be prepared, and that starts in the grocery store. Going to get the shopping out of the way first thing this morning, then head out for a long walk after lunch. I would go to the gym but it's going to be so beautiful out, I should enjoy it. Walking outside with the pooch is good for my soul, and I'm going to need all of it's peaceful goodness before I see my brother tonight. It's going to be a rough one, I can feel it in my bones.

SOOOO, goals for this week:

Document food plan daily and stick to it.
Exercise everyday at least one hour.

Sounds simple enough, I'll give it a go.

I hope everyone is well :-) Have a great day!

Wow, thank you~ glad to read things are moving along with Kayla and Copper. Yeah, holidays get a little crazy. I was taking the blame for everyone's madness eating but I think it's YOUR fault, everyone thinks they have six weeks to turn their 'I came, I saw, I ate, that's it' around. (KIDDING!!!!!!! JUST KIDDING!!!!) Weird, in my rebel ways I almost stepped on the scale yesterday when I haven't had the urge to do it for several weeks. I think I WILL go put it under the bed now.

So glad that the friend and the dog are doing well!! That equals less stress in your life. We skipped the holiday craziness this year and stayed home, which I'm happy about because it was a crazy enough week. I'm sure you'll more than make up for the weekend this week and the scale won't be there to torment you either way. ;)

A holiday at home, god that sounds amazing Mar lol. Someday, I want to do that!! It is nice not having the scale around. Bella, I have already contemplated that the blame is on me lol. What horrible timing to start a scale free challenge. It was worth it ;-)... I think. Since I don't know what the damage was I guess we will never know. Training for life outside that scale :-) so far it's not too damn shabby at all. Now stop being a rebel and get rid of that scale lol.

Great news on Kayla, and Copper. I hope the thyroid test comes out good as well. One of our dogs takes Thyroid medicine everyday. Glad you had a good time with your family too. Enjoy your walk.

Sorry you are going through so much! Glad the tests are coming out well for Kayla and Copper. My dog has a low thyroid and takes medication daily. Low thyroid is cheaper than treating a high thyroid (had a dog with that once too). Hope things continue to turn for the better. I will keep you in my prayers. Good luck with your brother. That is a sad and difficult situation to deal with. Keep up your strength. Sounds like you are doing great with all you have going on!

So glad to hear the puppy is okay and your friend has a chance at recovery. Family issues can often make holidays hard, but it is so worth putting in the time. When you can't see your family members anymore, you will really latch on to those memories. (And usually, in hindsight, the "drama" wasn't that big of a deal.)

That's wonderful news about Kayla’s progression. Speaking of calories, I ate so many unknown calories this weekend that I just started averaging. I lost count around 2000 on Saturday alone. Today was much better but I am still in the recovery zone. Tomorrow I should be fine.

rofl... couldn't have asked to participate in a better challenge then yours. But then, I couldn't figure out the calories anyway. Back on track. And thrilled I don't have to weigh myself. Jeans were tight today. A first in a gazillion years and I didn't like it.
