Draglist's Journal, 20 May 2018

Woke at 204.2, down 5.2 from yesterday and my lowest weight since May 17, 2017. Of course, I'm on day three of a 72 hour fast and taking Lasix to squeeze every last gram of glycogen out of my body! Blood ketones were at 3.2 this morning, so I'm DEEP into nutritional ketosis. Not hungry at all but I do feel weird. Sort of low energy but functional. One interesting thing is that I am sleeping a lot. And I had the most intense dreams last night. I woke up a few times to pass water but the dreams all tied together. Suffice to say I ate some sweet rolls, hooked up with a coworker at one point, and in a later dream was fired by Jeff Bezos of Amazon for doing it! :) Unlike most dreams, I remember nearly every detail of all of those. I woke up very glad I did not break my fast or my marriage vows and that I still had a job! Freaky.

Haha! Dreams are crazy! Good job on the loss

@DL I think the crazy dreams may be due to Growth Hormone spikes. I have been experiencing the same crazy dreaming recently and know from past experience that this can be symptomatic of GH spikes. What I didn't know until I got that fasting insomnia, fired up youtube and caught a Jason Fung interiew with Ben Greenfield at 0300 is that GH spikes are symptomatic of fasting. Dr. F stated that GH works opposite insulin and can spike to 300% (?) of normal while fasting. Bring on the naughty co-workers... #fasteddreams

Reminds me a little bit about part of Donald Glover's stand up routine concerning "cheating" in dreams.

lasix is a loop diuretic, it will help you pee more, it will cause hyponatremia, alkalosis and hypokalemia, im just curious on why you are taking it?

If you’re feeling low on energy, drink a small cup of water with pink salt mixed in.... it will give you the potassium and magnesium you may be draining from your body. Salt water is the Keto energy drink 🤩👍🏼

You most likely do need some sodium, especially if you are feeling weird and lethargic. If you don't need Lasix medically you are seriously playing around with your electrolytes. Potassium is nothing to play with and the window of normal levels is quite small.

HaHa... you are working/playing overtime in your dreams so that's why you are lethargic after you wake up! Just playing with you. Sounds like you have your bases covered. Take care of yourself! Good luck with your fast :)
