Welcome, exercise isn't an overnight fix, it is a long term journey to be healthier. Whatever calories work for you is good. Mine like Mummydee were much lower for my size and build.

Exercise, develop your body. Eat healthy nutritious foods, not junk. Don't try to lose weight fast or be too skinny for your build. Aim for healthy and toned.

How do you log your steps per day? Over goal or all for exercise?
I wish they would update it to log steps. I simply cannot keep track of minutes walking. That would be a daunting task...I gave up logging exercise.

Carbs vs Protein
Good advice. My friend who is a diabetic works with a nutritionist that her doc referred her to. I know she has to have so many carbs spread out during the day to keep her A1C levels fairly stable.
