Why is it on this website sautéed onions are 30 something carbs per cup. When I type it into Google, it shows it to be 1/4 cup = 2.2 (1c=8.8)? what should I go by?

Talk to the apple folks. It was there upgrade that did the damage. Check out some previous posts on this issue. I think the issue is being worked on.
