Need some motivation!

Sad I need to stop drinking so much coffee! Not even mentioning eating bread everyday! Its just so easy just to grab a sandwich! How do I get myself to drink water? I'm just beginning, but already want to give up!

Why give up coffee? Unless, of course it's drenched in cream and sugar. Instead, learn to drink black coffee. It's virtually zero calories, tastes great AND is an appetite suppresant that gives you energy.

Regarding the water - Thinner has some good points. Drinking water is a matter of habit. Drink as much as you can, but don't force yourself. You can't force something to form a good habit. Instead, consider what you want the most. However, water is essential for our bodies to run efficiently, and it's WAY easier to lose weight when your body is "happy". So ask yourself this:

Do you want to not drink water, or do you want to lose weight? It's your choice. Really.

Thanx everyone. I lost 2kg in a week so that is a great motivation for the next week. As of today I'm sipping water through a bottle. Don't know if I can do my coffee black though, but I'll cut down on the amount I drink a day. I only use 1 tsp of suger and a little bit of milk, but I drink about 6-8 cups a day.

Vegetables, fruits, meat, seafood and nuts are actually higher in nutrition than wheat, so would be a great substitute for some or all of that bread.

Does your local water taste like a swimming pool? If so you could use some Campden tablets, buy a Britta filter or start drinking bottled water or seltzer. I absolutely love ice cold seltzer, it's incredibly refreshing. You could also make iced green tea.

Drinking plain water has never been my thing. So I added lemon to it, then I got a cool water bottle that hold 700mls. Sometimes the container is just the motivation you need to encourage yourself to drink more.

Cucumber slices and crushed mint leaves are good ones to add to water to help. I add those a lot as well as any other fresh fruit. And I agree a cool container to drink out of does help lol

Just keep trying. I used to dislike drinking water. As I got older and began to gain weight I became more health conscience. I started drinking more water and less soda. These days I rarely drink soda. I have very little desire for it. Drink your water very cold. I like mine in a bottle or in a glass with lots of ice. Trust me, once you get away from soda, it nearly tastes like a horrible syrup when you drink it. It's just what you get used to. Never give up!

Just concentrate on drinking more water. Also, I have been replacing my 2nd cup of coffee with hot green tea. It's not exactly the same, but it's working for me.

Although many people nowadays, especially dieters or those into fitness, consume massive amounts of water, there is not a scientific basis for this. Water will taste better to you if you drink it when you are thirsty and don't force yourself to drink it when you are not.

Good ideas, I've also heard to drink water before and during your meal as it helps on controlling ones intake by reducing what one consumes.

Ugh give up coffee no way! But I only use splenda now (no sugar) and I use low fat half & half (1 oz/ mug). As long as I'm losing, no need to cut this back. I drink coffee all day so at work, when I get a cup of coffee, I also get a 16 oz glass of water and make myself drink that. I think staying hydrated has helped with the weight loss but I am wearing a rut in the carpet on the way to the bathroom...

Bread is another story. I only will have one piece occasionally and it has to be a good bread not from a sandwich or white bread... A good garlic naan, or crusty Italian or French bread...

Make sure the level of the water decreases to the label by that time of day. Simple and ingenious.
