Hi there. Don't be so hard on yourself. I binge too especially if it's some sort of stress, and I do not exercise every day of the week. So when you're ready again just get back to it.

Hi, thank you for replying, my long weekend is already mapped out now, nature reserve across the road from where I live, good weather, long walks and plenty of salad I think will correct my mess up hopefully, how are you doing with your diet? Smile

It happens. Don't worry about it. One meal/binge session can't derail your whole process.

@FLUKE62 My diet has improved within the last 2 days...now that I'm taking into account my caloric intake and out-take. The temptation is always there because my daughter's snacks are so easy to grab, but I'm holding out. I can do it.

In the scheme of things it was just one binge and just one day. You will be ok. Just start over right now with another snack, but make it a healthy one front loaded with protein.

It may sound silly but you might want to consider a Plan B, plan of attack. When you feel like eating out of controll do this. I have used this strategy and it worked. First the binge is controlled so you set the size or set time constraints on it like say 1/2 hour,or 15 minutes. I decided it can never be larger than the size of the palm of my hand and must be front loaded with protein. The protein affects the insulin levels by balancing them out against bad carbs you might be eating. Good luck!
Stay strong, stay focused.

it is inevitable from time to time to overat, to me it happens now on average once every week or so, but it does not do too many damages since I can balance it out on the rest of the week and actually it is positive to release the pressure from time to time, the only thing it is necessary to do is to track what you eat also when "binging" so that you can always know where you stand.
For instance yesterday I ended up eating around 4700 kcal with a surplus of about 1800 on the day but over the week I am still down about 3000. Keep track!

Look at it this way, you didn't fall off the wagon.. you just ran beside it for a day, then hopped back on..... a positive look on things works far better than a negative.

It is a bit difficult with others in the house sometimes, but the best binge control I have come up with is removing as much of the junk from the cabinets and pantry as possible. The little one has her treats and I have to just stay out of them. I have mostly replaced the junk with better options for when we just need to have a snack. When I do have a cookie or some similar treat myself, I generally just limit myself to one, which will usually satisfy the craving.

Good luck on the rest of your weekend. Don't let one slip-up spoil you plans. It happens to all of us.

Hi im the binge queen, when im good my diet is very clean but when i fall off the bandwagon i can go on binging on/off for 1or 2 weeks and that is where the real damage occurs;pick yourself up and fight another day, 1binge wont harm your progress but a few on the trot will...im nursing a week long binge right now :,-( but iv bin good for 3 days now

Great suggestions & advice here! I've certainly had my share of binges -- always sugar treats, & especially like the Plan B idea. I went off sugar completely for 6 weeks & now am starting to add it back occasionally to be eaten mindfully in small amounts & enjoyed. Hoping this will help me avoid future binges. If you're a reader, someone here on FS recommended a book called "Binge No More: Your Guide to Overcoming Disordered Eating" by Joyce Nash. Good luck & stay in touch!

curious Ruhu, if you went 6 weeks without, why do you feel the need to add it back in, it has 0 nutritional value and is totally addictive, Why not stick with natural sugars from fruits? not only healthier and has some nutrion in it. I don't consider giving my kids sugar a treat, its a toxin, We are lucky enough to have a candy store in our town that brings candy in from France and Spain that is sweetened with fruit sugar and died with fruit and veggie dies. no additives at all. If you search hard enough you can find these healthy treats anywhere.

Sometimes you just want some proper junk food, chocolate ice cream biscuits cake whatever

Enjoy it and move on ...look for about 80/20 good food to treat food compliance and stay within calorie limits overall regardless

Hey folks Smile I've been on this crazy diet for abt a month or two and I lost 15kg! I had cut out almost anything that seemed fattening and I felt happy though I craved junkfood,I now weigh about 70 but I'm not happy,I'm really young and most girls around my height and age weigh in the 40's Sad but the problem is I kinda lost all my self control and now battle keepn up the junkfood stay away for even one day! If I can keep up the diet I calculated that I wud reach my goal weight by august but now especially exam time at school,I get so depressed and stressed out that all I can think is 'I wanna go home and explode into a pile of junkfood or I won't be able to write tomorrow's paper' u gotta help me,no matter how motivated I am,wen I see a pretty buttercream icing cupcake *drool* I can't think of my goals anymore,I need to eat that..and since I ate that I'm gna have that burger..and some sour worms...did u say red velvet mousse? Sad I ate..a lot..for weeks! But I'm still hungry! Omg why'd my chocolate finish so soon? #HELPME!!!
