Thought it was well written. I figure many of you will find it on your own, but wanted to post it for those who don't.

Does anybody really think that they didn't get what they had because they didn't have the talent or the strength or the endurance or the commitment?

Interesting - thank you. Hope this time around lasts ten years for me too. The sugar quote was interesting :

Recent studies by the National Institutes of Health have shown that brain scans of food addicts undergo the same changes and sustain the same damage as those of cocaine users. And that granulated sugar is more addictive than cocaine.

"I ate because the food was there. Just finished a meal? Who cares? My cue was the way food looks and smells. I might eat five baskets of bread in a restaurant, but, if it still looks appealing, I'd ask the waiter for a sixth."

Yup.

It really is interesting how your tastes change when you get away from the bad stuff. You don't crave like you used to, you don't overeat like you used to, you learn how to listen to your body instead of bossing it around like you think you know better what it "needs". I hope that, once I reach my goal, I'll stay there that long too...this food rehab thing is rough!

Years ago we did a short term study about how sugar lights up the brain faster than cocaine with rats, it was just comparing data from different sources, but one has to wonder if the sugar in so many refined foods is a way to keep the people purchasing them and if modifying gains are different to produce better, may also hinder a trigger that says stop.Personally Know for a fact there are foods even if I tried find a way to eat till gone.Like corn a top modified food product. And people think it means genetically modified with animal genes but it includes cross bred or Hybrid. Yes it is great to have an abundant food source but the side effect is obesity.

Atkins talk
Are you eating enough fat and protein? Protein: 4-6 oz per meal Fat: 1-2 tblsp per meal Plus snacks. If you do that, your hunger should abate. Are is it cravings instead? HTH
