I had this problem just the other day and I have bowel issues. I used Dulcolax and 1 pill worked wonders. I've tried the fiber supplements, like Metamucil, and they didn't do much for me. The Dulcolax has seemed to be the best for me and easiest on my stomach. Hope you feel better soon!

Just had a quick 'nosey' at your diet calender and wondered if you are getting enough fibre? You can add that figure to your food diary to monitor it by ammending your options. Im always swopping food options when I plan my days intake to increase my fibre

I had issues even when I had plenty of fiber in my diet. I've tried Yakult or Greek yogurt daily and they both worked for me. I personally think Yakult works the best. It must have had been a lack of probiotics in my system.

Hey I used Dulcolax as well but it's pretty harsh. Then I discovered turmeric. If you can find a supplement that includes ginger it works wonders and is not as harsh and all natural. I have seen some videos where people buy fresh turmeric in bulk buy their own vegetable based gel caps and made their own. I'm not that free with my time. Lol. So I would buy them. Let me know if it works. I took 1000 mg at breakfast and same at lunch by 2 I was all clear. Ps that with 200 mg of ginger.

Thanks all. I've taken some Dulcolax "seems" to be working, but I really would rather something more mild.

Champers, updated to show fiber, if you want to take another "nosey". I think my fiber intake is good for today, yes????

wd9753, have never heard of Yakult, will have to check it out.

Lulumermaid, all natural, sounds great! Will look for that.

Hoser-I'm doint Atkins, I can't have prunes Sad and I do like them as well.

Again, Thanks all for the input! Have a great day!

Im no 'expert' and have only a very basic understanding of the Atkins diet but I went for another 'nosey' and it certainly looks good to me Smile Well it beats my intake and I havent had issues since I've been keeping my eye on it. Its hard to balance all these requirements! Usually Im only affected by medication and luckily for me its rare that I need it.

You'll soon know if its working for you Wink

Too much sodium and not enough water intake can cause constipation. Saturated fat and SUGAR can trigger bloat and so can wheat.
Too many Carbohydrates can cause gas & bloating such as rice, potatoes, and pasta, beans and peas.

Eat Rye bread with seeds..eases constipation because of the fiber arabinoxylan and also DRINK SOME CHAMOLIE TEA this herb has anti-inflammatory and antispasmodic properties which can help prevent the onset of gas symptoms and stomach cramps. You can also reverse constiptation with a belly rub.

Fage 0% Plain Yogurt is a good probiotic and add berries for fiber.Eat some parsley, cabbage, and I have also found Nabisco Ginger Snap cookies with molases help keep my bowels moving.

Foods That Help Relieve Constipation are Broccoli, Tomatoes, Garlic, Onions, and Cabbage ... Asparagus, Radishes, Sesame Seeds, flaxseeds,Carrots, Spinach, Pine Nuts, prunes

Fiber from veggies - try to gradually build up to >50 grams of fiber and you will become regular. You can't do it overnight b/c it will upset your stomach, but gradually increase over the course of a few weeks. I'm not on atkins and eat mostly veggies - sometimes I have more than 100 grams of fiber/day. Yes, I know that is a lot, but I am very regular and that is a good feeling Smile

this is what i hate about losing weight and dieting. When i used to lose weight unhealthy way years ago, i needed the dulcolax. now that i am older, wiser , i am eating alot of fiber and salads. will tell you that dulcolax causes abd cramping. otc target womens brand is cheap and did not give abdominal pain, very gentle. you sound uncomfortable so after relief by otc add more fiber and salads , water and you shoulde be ok . feel better

Can't speak for atkins, but I know I felt that way all last week, wanted to go, but just couldn't. I finally broke down and bought some senna tablets.

If your grocery store carries it, it is usually by the juice and/or yogurt section in very small bottles.

JBL12--Flax seed is wonderful. I add it to my oatmeal and chobani yogurt when I have it.

Senakot I normally use but I tried Dulcolax and that worked wonders too. There's another one called Ex-lax it's chocolate, I've yet to try it but been told it's good aswell.
Hope this has helped Smile

I've had "issues" since having my gall bladder removed a few years ago. Why is that? I do Atkins so I eat lots of veggies but still only do my "thing" 1-2 times a week and never feel better. I also have what my GI doc says it tortuous bowel.....well I feel tortured too!

Have tried the Metamucil pills....5 at a time....took 3 days to produce results but it made me feel awful.

Tips?
