Hi everyone. How many hours of sleep do you require each night to feel well rested? It seems that 7 hours of sleep each night is best for me. Most recently I have only been getting about 6 hours each night. Most generally I like to get my workouts done in the morning and at times it can be a challenge without enough rest.

As long as you are early enough in bed, best around 10 ( as the sleep before midnight is the best & the deepest) you should be fine with 6 to 7 hours. I would love to workout in the mornings, but as I start work at 7am, there is not a lot of room there.

Perfect - at least 9 hours to feel good, I love to sleep. And usually I sleep 7 hours. And another quote:
"Sleep - is still a mystery to scientists. Almost half of sleep takes a special paradoxical phase - a deeply asleep, and the brain is active. At this time, the brain analyzes the past day and prepares us for the next one. At night, the body produces growth hormone. The consumption of fat, and the person loses weight. Growth hormone is produced in the period from 23:00 to 01:00. So no matter how much we sleep - it is important, when we sleep. Ideal to go in 22 hours to 23 hours of good sleep. Thus, we lose weight during sleep from 23:00 to 01:00. Joy hormone serotonin also produced during sleep. It requires sugar. Poor sleep causes us to have a sweet and flour. If a person does not sleep and the next morning feeling overwhelmed, he unwittingly begins to eat sweet and flour to make up for a lack of serotonin. If a person went to bed on time, woke up early, the serotonin in the body enough, and carbohydrates are not needed".

I sleep nearly every night for a standard 8 hours. I am one of the fortunate few that can go to sleep fast and wake up 8 hours later feeling refreshed and energized. Bed time hits me at 10pm and I wake up at 6am most days. I work out in the morning most days and feel great for the rest of the day.

My fiance on the other hand, goes to bed late, wakes up late, feels like crap and is completely unmotivated to workout. But I love him anyway. Smile
