I have lost 13 lb in weight 15lb to loose to reach my goal. But I still have a bloated tummy, I am doing the walk, jog run challenge to motivate my exercise so am active for part of my day. Any ideas as to how to improve this tummy of mine, I was thinking of swimming once a week. Would be great to hear from you guys re this. There is not much on offer on exercise groups here unfortunately so anything would have to be done by myself at home or in the gardenSad

Thank you all in advance and anticipation Smile

I have found that I need digestive enzymes. I use the ones from www.drnewtons.com. They are phenomenal. Also you know me, adequate water. And if you have a sensitivity it can make you bloated. Wheat does that to me I am finding. Do you notice the bloating after certain foods are ingested? Stress can also cause instant bloating. Exercise helps keep things more regular and adequate fiber. You are increasing the fruits and vegs., so that is great! I love Shawn T's Ab program for toning. It does work. I can't do it with my bad back from work anymore, but if you can it is great!

If you google bloated stomach, you will find some useful information.
Gum, sugar free candy, using straws, gasey foods, too much fiber - can all contribute to bloat.

I recently cut out sugar free gum because I became obsessed with it (was chewing it to alleviate anxiety and to prevent myself from snacking too much). My stomach is so much happier Smile

I forgot about the sugar free gum and sugar free products even soda (gasey as NCNole says)! They are hard to digest that is why. I did not know about straws, but I guess you introduce air into your system that way.

Because of my age I am also fighting the upper tummy and bloating. I have started using Oil of Oregano drops (taste terrible) so use in a juice shot and follow with lots of water. You may want to research it. I am finding it gives me energy, cuts down on appetite and helps with the gas and bloating.

Too much sodium and not enough water intake can cause bloat. Diabetes and thyroid disorders can also cause stomach bloating and upset. Too many Carbohydrates can cause gas & bloating and Sugar Free foods cause bloat and specially soda.

Eat Rye bread with seeds..eases constipation because of the fiber...DRINK SOME CHAMOLIE TEA this herb has can help prevent the onset of gas symptoms and stomach cramps

Sugar and wheat cause bloat...Fage 0% Plain Yogurt is a good probiotic for bloat and gassiness add berries to sweeten.
Yes digestive enzymes help relieve bloat, however eat more protein as protein can act like a natural diruetic add fruits and veggies to your diet because they are great in providing constipation relief for one main reason ...the fiber

That is a lot of info to take in, my intake of water is up now so that is good. Can not find rye bread here and try not to eat any bread as this does cause most of my bloating, will try a probiotic yogurt and defo the tea and will try to remember about the protein and carbs. Thank you Sunshine Smile

Stop chewing the sugar free gum. It's a horrible cause of bloat. Try a probiotic in a pill form. That's what my gastroenterolist told me, as you would have to eat five cups of yogurt a day for it to help. Hope this helps. Smile

Why does wheat cause bloat? I have been thinking I have a sensitivity, but maybe it bloats everyone? Is it hard to digest?

Sally some people can have an intolerance to wheat in much the same way as some have a lactose intolerance I have 2 daughters one has the wheat and the other has the lactose intolerance. I cut bread from my diet which improved my tummy for a while, after speaking to all you lovely people and getting some good input I spoke to my daughters who told me about their intolerance From that I think that maybe I too have an intolerance and by reducing and cutting foods over the last month has improved this and that maybe I ate something (possibly pastry or pasta) that caused the bloating to return, I am going to use a wheat free pasta if I include pasta in my diet. Knowledge and understanding is important but I also need to ensure a healthy life. Smile
